Howard Fineman article here. Cheney has been doing such a good Invisible Man impression lately, I was just wondering if he was ill again. Interesting replacement speculation.

And Bush traded Sammy Sosa!!!! LOL!

That article is abit off, IMO. First, it treats Bush, Jr. as if the only thing wrong with him is that he "just lacks governmental experience" and other observations and treats him as if he has a normal IQ. That's probably a curteousy. However, it skews any analysis that he makes. IF Bush is the same as he was as Governor he will likely do this or that. Heck, the guy can't undo mental retardation!

As far as Cheney being "invisible" goes, while VP have always been nothing more than Presidents-in-Waiting in case the President should fall dead, here the case is likely to be the other way around. I think that when Cheney is missing, he's busy having other heart bypasses or hooked up to life support machinery.

Who will Bush pick as running mate in 2004? First, that assumes that he hasn't been made to resign in disgrace before then. The Bush Camp can't keep hauling out Abdul the Terrorist from the closet and shaking that puppet in front of us every time his ratings drop because even the dimmist of Republicans will eventually catch on to that act. Bush will soon be left to sink or swim on his owm merits, as the right-wing is slowly but surely deserting him. But should he run again, does it matter WHO he gets to run with him? I doubt that the American People are going to be forgiving next election at the Dirty Tricks pulled to get Bush into office over Al Gore and that means Republicans don't have a chance of winning.

There's talk about having NYC former mayor Rudy be Bush's running mate in 2004.

"Who will Bush pick as running mate in 2004?"

Yuck! I'm still in shock from his being elected.

If that's true Clarksville, it would ruin Guillianni. If he is thinking of him, it would only be because Rudy has the respect of the people that he lacks.

Between being ineffectual on foreign policy and the sinking economy, I don't think it makes much difference who Bush runs with.

Watch the mid-term elections closely, it will give a good idea how Bush is doing politically.

Bush could go down worse that Jimmy Carter, provided the Dems run someone viable.

That's just what I was going to interjet, KD>

Who indeed!

Not another intellectual who runs with his tail between his legs at every new poll, instead of providing us with someone who makes the polls. No, that was disgraceful last time and the Democrats can't see to stop. They're like Vampires that run shreaking and hissing at the results of every new poll that the Bush Regeime trots out. They are standing on tiptoe a chair terrified out of their wits at the poll "mouse". Pathetic!

Instead, I'll have to go with Auroranorth's constant fielding of Ventura as a viable candidate. I like Ralph Nader, but the Green Party in some respects is too Left for my tastes. I do think that there is a place for corporations and a need for strict controls to their obnoxious, abusive behaviors.

I'll wait and see . . .

Maybe Arnold Schwarzanagger (sp check on that last name ) will be his running mate?

He was interviewed on the news recently and there was speculation that he was going to run for some office, possibly Gov of CA.
Yes he is a Republican (for shame! )

Unless the U.S. Constitution is changed, Arnie can't be Vice President. Since the VP is to replace the Prez upon death, illness etc etc etc, the vp must be born in the US. Arnie was born in Austria.

He can be California's governor, though

I didn't know that Carson was a, a Rebulican!

There's always Mel Gibson, I know, I know, you'll say he's Austrailian, however he was born here in the U.S and didn't move to Austrailia until he was 12. V.P. Mad Max
