ME ME ME!!!! Im waiting for it to come on...another hour and a half. Hoping someone is worse than Nasty Nicole, and from what I hear, ALL the houseguests have great potential to be exactly that, lol.

Mornin' Hep - So...what did you think?

Lots of good looking people on there this time. Julie even appears to be showing a little more attention to how she dresses...maybe it's just me..but I thought she was looking pretty good last night.

The nests in the trees were interesting. I'd have been like the girl who took all the meat....left in the tree with nothing to eat or drink.

The blond that had too much beer, and then another one while 'nested' cracked me up. I've known few who can drink beer and hold it very long.

I always used to enjoy your and EGs take on this show.

Oh now auroranorth - We need a little diversion from worrying about the economy, the terrorists, the corruption, police brutality and all the other issues that real life brings our way.

Have no intention of ever watching it....I have a life

I'm glad to hear you have a life, mlecher. I do too. Because everyone enjoys different forms of entertainment doesn't mean one 'doesn't have a life'...just means we all enjoy different things. You don't enjoy this subject, then please don't read it. But please allow others who do the freedom to do as they wish.

Big Brother??? I thought it would be a documentary about Ashcroft. What a juvenile bunch of nonsense. One minute was too much.

HOW RUDE some people are.

Yes, you do Helen. But I've often wondered when I read your posts, if you act this way when in a group of strangers. When you're not being spoken to, do you go up and insult them for no reason? I doubt it. Because you hide behind a monitor, you show no politeness to anyone who does not see life through your glasses.

You come across to me as a knowledgeable person, even though I don't agree with most of your views. But you also come across to me as one very angry woman.

Linda, Dissenting opinions should not be considered rude. If they were, I would consider all of your opinions rude.

Helen - Are you having fun? Does it bring you some sort of pleasure to come into a thread where you've already stated you think the subject matter is nonsense and continue this behavior? Is fighting/arguing over everything all you get any enjoyment from?

Go enjoy what you enjoy....have some fun at doing things you think and feel are fun. Why waste your time on such nonsense?

Linda,

You have almost coined the word "share". Several times you have spoken about a poster's right to "share" their opinions. That is exactly what I did.
It doesn't logically follow that because I disagree with anything that I am unhappy. Generally, if you will notice, I don't always respond to your posts but in this case, I was really looking forward to an expose on Ashcroft and the disappointment when I saw what I term "nosense" instead was just overwhelming.

That is why I responded to this thread.

Good morning lindak! What are my thoughts on it so far? Well, I dont much care for any of the houseguests...yet. Too early to tell. Put it this way..Im not impressed, lol. It seems so long ago that we all were discussing this show here, with BB2. I said back then that I liked Nicole...big mistake. After a time, I got to where I couldnt stand her, but thats what made the show interesting, eh? All in due time about this one. Lets see what happens tonight, then compare notes

Helen - You and krs have, several times brought up the fact that I use the word share a lot. So what? Really. Krs has even mentioned/hinted that it is in someway related to a 12 step program.

Are you trying to imply that there is something wrong with my use of that word? I wouldn't think that if you weren't constantly mentioning it.

I see that as what we all do here. We share our thought and opinions, we share our lives sometimes. So you don't care for my posts, that's okay. But do you just ignore them? Or do you only speak to the issue you disagree with? No...you constantly seem to somehow get great satisfaction in making yourself and your opinions seem like they are superior to those who think differently than you. Maybe you feel superior. I don't know. Maybe putting others down somehow makes you feel better about yourself.

The hostility that comes across the screen to me, when anyone who holds a different opinion than yours, seems unbelieveable to me at times. And I'm not just referring to this thread, or to me alone. It's a constant thing with you. There are many here who think what I [or anyone] shares, is not knowledgeable....but are they constantly insulting others? No. They are being polite and not saying something hurtful or mean and taking their thrills out of doing so.

I have no more to say to you Helen.

Sounds good to me, Hep.

That's one of the things I enjoy about watching this show. How one appears at first isn't always what they're like once you get to know them a little better.

Thanks for mentioning it's on again tonight. I didn't pick up on that.

Going to get some serious listing done today...I hope.

Next time you post let me know how things are going for you...job wise. Well, I hope.

Yes, BB comes on at 8pm PST tonight. It is on Wednesday, thursday and saturday each week. It passes the time until this fall, because when BB ends, Survivor starts!! Im also watching a show called "Under One Roof", where 5 families have to live together in Fiji to win the house. It comes on Tuesday night, channel UPN.
I just got a new job, but I havent started yet. Its down on the waterfront and the gal has 3 gift shops currently, with 1 more being built as we speak. She will have me hop from shop to shop. She said I would be starting around July 21st or thereabouts, so Im getting stuff done around here before I wind up over there, lol. I liked the gal..she was very nice and even hugged me after our last interview when she said "youre hired". Never been hugged by a prospective boss before. Anyway...I look forward to it, because its doing what I do best....sell.

Thoughts please on the Big Brother House after it has been going for a week. I find it obniouxous (sp) I think the house guests had a reality check when CBS came up with the veto power. (good work CBS) I feel they kicked the only sensible player out and now havic will play rampid until the end. At least with the veto power they can't form an alliance and kick out the one they don't like. You would think they would play the game so that they could stay in the house not play the game to kick people out. It would be hot tub and solitare for me if I was there.
It was good to see the old house guests from last year.....

After looking up a little about the show it seems these are the same sort of shallow immature people who I have been avoiding since about Jr. High School - so why would I take time to follow what they do? I would never invite them in my home for company so why push a button and summon them in on the screen?
Self centered personality games.

Self centered personality games.

A lot like many chatboards, Gravid.

I was curious about the show and started watching for the first time this month. Actually I agree with you that this group seem incredibly shallow by the kinds of things they like to talk about and do, what they focus on as being "important" and the kinds of stuff that seem to determine their opinion of others. Sort of a "I don't like this human being because he wears red socks" kind of shallowness.

Don't judge all reality shows by this one. I'm hooked on Survivor. The people so far on that show have had a lot more substance to them. Yes there are a lot of egos on that show too but so there are in real life. I find the group dynamics fascinating and am often surprised to see the same dynamics re-occurring with each new batch of contestants. In other words, these shows do reflect human nature and you can learn a lot by watching how the dynamics work.

My girlfriend & I were in Survivor withdrawal, so we have watched BB since it started this season. Pretty entertaining, if only to confirm the pettiness and deceit to be found in much of the populace.
So far, Josh brings out the most hisses in our living room . . . he's a troubling blend of narcissism, racism, and paranoia.
Overall, I'd rather watch the Mole.

Im disappointed this time around. I dont know what it is with reality shows lately...they seem to focus on "baywatch" style of folks. The first one was boring, but the characters were more interesting because of the differences in looks, age, mentality. This one is definetly clonish. And they are all so....well...the word(s) doesnt come to mind. Self centered? And no depth. Selfish. Bratty. Non moralistic. Pompous, but in a fake sort of way. I havent seen much of Jason, so Im thinking he has such a low profile because he is more "innocent" and therefore deemed "boring" by the producers? I watch it because Survivor isnt on..but when BB is over, Survivor starts, so it keeps me occupied until then.

I saw a new show last night...MEET THE FOLKS. I was not impressed. I dont get WHY they do what they do. Anyone seen it? The 3 guys that are vying for a date with one chick, spend the time in the house, WITH the chick and the parents. And the guys have to go thru all kinds of embarassing things..for example, the ex girlfriends get to come for a visit and tell all..and the guys CANNOT refute or remark on ANY thing they may say, even if its a downright lie, and the parents that are listening to this can either believe it or disbelieve it. Then at the end of the show, they have to take a lie detector test. All to win a date. I dont get it. WHY do they allow themselves to be dishonored JUST for a DATE with a chick they dont even know? And what ARE the parents thinking? Its like their daughter is...bait. Disgusting.

Libra63 - I agree. Throwing that veto power in has changed the dynamics.

ferncrestmotel - if only to confirm the pettiness & deceit.
That's exactly what I find most interesting about watching these programs. I'm always amazed at how people behave and treat one another, and what they'll do to win. Shows their true character to me.

We've enjoyed watching the Survivor shows too.

Hep - Was so glad to hear your news. Keeping fingers crossed here it all works out for you.
