time for a fluffy thread.
without mentioning religion, abortion, or politics, please.
Where do you stand on these issues?
me? well, since you asked...
sex:
very enjoyable, good exercise, good for mental health as well as keeping limber. I try to participate as much and as often as possible. (but I'm still in the honeymoon phase, right?)
drugs:
never experimented much (I always felt more comfortable experimenting with sex, I guess!). Mebbe I don't like to be out of control so I never got into anything mind-altering. or mebbe I'm just a wuss.
rock n roll:
still like it, mostly classic rock & mellow rock now, though. jazz now and then, no rap.

Sex and rock 'n' roll as often as possible. Drugs stopped being fun shortly after college thirty years ago. An occasional prescription sleeping pill is all I take now.

hi doc!
thanks for joining in the fluff!
yes, I remember those college days.
I guess if I were using better stuff I wouldn't remember them, would I?
hmmm...wait a minute...
maybe I did do a lot of drugs, a lot of really good drugs. and maybe I I really did let my hair down and dance on table and maybe I was the wildest thing on campus.
maybe I did all that & I just cant remember.
nah...
I go back to my original idea.
I'm just a wuss

Sex: if I could wave a Magic Wand and remove and prevent all sexually transmitted diseases, I'd say that sex is one of the few guaranteed Joys from the Maker to the Made. Think about it: we come with our own Toys, a joy to use, something that should bring people closer together in intimacy. Using the above Magic Wand, I'd then encourage adults to seek out other adults as much as possible for swapping intimacy.
Drugs: I never did hard stuff, uppers or downers. I wanted to "expand my conciseness" when I was a teen and for a few years, I smoked weed and drank beer. I stopped that going into the military. After being off of pot for six months, the world got very, very serious! Turns out that a change in philosophy is a common side effect of marijuana use and once it is out of a person's system, the Real World with all of its Pain returns. I've always been too scared of addiction to try harder drugs, seeing as how easily I became physically addicted to cigarettes for 21 years. Since I stopped smokin' pot, I learned how to get natural highs whenever I want them and I have not needed any drugs to get me to where I want to go to.
Rock 'n' Roll: when I smoked pot, the harder the metal, the better it sounded. Once I stopped smoking pot, my music tastes changed to soft rock, although constant Love Songs make me want to puke. (I Love Her, She loves me, We Love each other, He loved me, She Loved me, (country: my Dog loved me,) We loved each Other, We were in Love, We will be in Love, we Won't be in Love anymore, ||GAG!|| That lead me to conclude that acid rock 'n' roll is for people who smoke marijuana and country is for boozers.

shame on you, krafty! did you forget? Zoomin does NOT set traps, she just likes to play. That's why I stay away sometimes.
good to see you, btw!

I'm an excedrin pm fan, myself. The scripts give me hangovers. Mark takes half an ambien once in a while. I tried those but they didn't put me out. Actually, they make me zoom!!!

never try to guess a woman's age. You will always end up with egg on your face.
That being said, I don't remember and I wasn't there . Never had a chance to burn my bra, either. Born in 64.

I miss the Magic Wand of ignorance. I remember when we were only afraid of getting pregnant or an std. *sigh*
(true confession: I thought you were referring to something else when you said Magic Wand).
I like your *intimacy swapping* thought. More people could use some of that warm fuzzy feeling. I think the world would be a much happier place.
I, too, alwas feared the addiction of drugs. Ive smoked for 20 years. Had we tried to overcome our fears, we would probably both be long gone by now.
(what a cheery thought!)

to find out how evil we all are
Are you trying to give me an anxiety attack????
Mark & Mary Jane are pretty good friends, more than just now & then.
care to discuss legalization or would that be the end of the fluff?
sex - Even after 34 years of marriage, I'm still very much physically attracted to my husband. It's more because of the type of man he is, rather than the physical. Trusting and respecting the one you love is so 'freeing' sexually....at least it has been for me.
drugs - Tried MJ once in my 20's. Wasn't for me. Felt like I was withdrawing from the room. I'd much rather get a buzz from some great wine. "It makes me feel like dancin'....wanted to dance the night away."
rock&roll - We've always liked different types of music...depends on the mood we're looking to enjoy. The soul music from the late 50s - 60s was and probably always will be our favorite. But we enjoy/enjoyed disco music, country, soft rock and easy listening. My husband likes some hard rock, but it just seems to get on my nerves.

stusi - Obviously, you've never been on that type of medication. When you are, sex never enters your mind....ever. (I am weaning off of it, so there's still hope...maybe.)
zoomin, "Are you trying to give me an anxiety attack????"
Yes.
I have only good things to say about MJ, (except if you smoke it, there is tar). I'm a firm believer in medical patients being able to have easy access to it as well as 'recreational' users. We're so close to having it become decriminalized here in Canada, which is a great first step. I think England has just done that as well as Nevada (I think, or did that pass?). It sure is an interesting topic!!

kraft- I was aware that Zoloft had that effect but not Prozac. Have you asked your doctor about Wellbutrin etc.?

What I'm on is called 'Celexa' stusi. It's supposed to have the least side-effects. The joke is, the drug makes me so anxiety-free, I don't even care that I don't care about sex.

Linda
You and DH are fortunate! I hope Mark & I are the same way after 34 years! Lucklily, we too are attracted to each other more than just physically. The better we get to know each other, the better the sex. Three years, but I agree that it is more fulfilling as the trust & respect grows.
Kraft:
I'm off zoloft, half a xanax always seemed to relax me enough to let the walls down & sex became an option again.
I'm definitely for legalization. Mark has had a long friendship, always in moderation, and it is truly no dofferent than having a glass of wine every other night or so. Although it wouldn't change my habits, I'm all for the decriminalization. Right now I fear where the stuff actually comes from and the different potencies.
just a basket of fears.......

Borillar, that was the funniest thread I've read lately!!! For some reason, all I can picture, is after you've had your way with a bunch of disease-free women, you make them all stay until they completely understand the pseudo-rise & fall of George W.
I sure agree with you zoomin. I think more and more people are slowly realizing what a great over-all plant this is.

Sex is nice but it really isn't the most important thing in the world no matter what my brother in law thinks.
Just because I don't especially care for drugs doesn't mean I don't want you to have them. If you can't handle them that's your problem not mine. If you try to rip me off i don't really care if it is to buy drugs or just because you are greedy. Either way it is not a terribly safe enterprise.
Rock and Roll is fine but I like music better. I am guessing it works better than music however to drown out all those voices and feelings you are trying to ignore.

Sex: Preferably not standing
Drugs: When I'm in the hospital and need pain meds, don't give me crap that I have told you doesn't work on me. Don't sniff glue and vomit that horrid stuff near me. Don't do drugs and drive. Otherwise, you're pretty well free to do as you like with your own body.
Rock and Roll: I prefer some other types of music more, but there are times when I like to crank up Kick Out the Jams, MF as loud as the stereo can go. Or some Doors.
Glowing Magic Wand Wonger. Some interesting men here. You have the right to an informed opinion -Harlan Ellison

Sex: I'm on Prozac, nuff said. Hoping not for much longer.
Drugs: Tried quite a few when I was younger and realized it wasn't for me. BUT, I would still rather be in a room with someone high on pot than drunk. I think pot should be legalized. I've seen quite a few people that need to smoke a joint once in a while just to loosen up.
Rock n Roll: At 42, I still like what my mother calls "devil music". You know, Megadeth, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, plus I love Nickleback. On the other hand, my better half (who is 36) likes country which I think is depressing.

kraft and others: The California Supreme Court has just ruled that those who use or grow marijuana with a doctor's approval are protected by state law from prosecution.
