ok...i heard this rumor and i am posting this to find out if it true.
you are a seller, you get a negative feedback from a buyer that you did not deserve, and so if you want to remove that negative feedback you in turn place a negative feedback back, but here is the crux....you place real filthy dirty strong obsenties back for the buyer and you send it to ebay to let them see....result....ebay removes both negative feedbacks......is this true and has anyone out there ever seen it or heard about it.....

Skylite,

I heard that story mentioned on Ebay Outlook but I would not try it. Ebay would probably remove the very offensive feedback and leave yours as it is.

Sometimes, for example, buyers do cross checks...For example, I might look to see your feedback AND the feedback that you have left for others. The best way to handle negative feedback is to just leave a very calm, reasonable response. After you acquire a few good feedbacks few people will pay attention to a negative.

I've heard that Ebay will not remove negative feedback but if you have a really unusual case, you might give it a try.

Good Luck!

Helen

It happened to me. I left neg feedback for a bidder, he responded with my personal info in his feedback (also neg). I mean, he posted my phone number or something, I disremember exactly. eBay removed his feedback AND my neg.

I got a neg last year from a deadbeat who didn't like the fact that I put a negative feedback on his feedback. The neg that I received was really bizaar and had nothing at all to do with anything that we did or didn't do. So I complained to ebay to have it removed.

Ebay told me over and over again, that unless I could prove through a judge's order to have it removed as being libel, or that the feedback had nothing to do with the transaction it was going to stay.

I told them that

a) the customer never had a chance to sample our wares or services, so there was no way an opinion of these things could be formed.

b) the wording of the negative feedback had nothing at all to do with the transaction, i.e. it was not transaction related feedback; especially since there never was any transaction to comment upon.

Ebay's response in so many words: GO TO HELL!

So, good luck in getting your negative feedback removed.

Skylite - Yes, I have read that on the EO before. But if it were me, I'd just post a calm, factual response to that FB. It's my belief that doing so will look [to other buyers] like the professional they'd like to trade with. And if one does post a FB or response in an non-appropriate manner, you may lose your ebay account. Many ebay users have been where you are right now.

I SELLER, WAS CURSED OUT BY BUYER IN FEED BACK. I RESPONDED WITH A CALM NEG. NOW THIS MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE PLAYED A PART. I TOLD THE NOW -1 NEG. BUYER TO UNSIGN UP WITH E BAY AS NO ONE WOULD EVER WANT TO SELL TO A NEGATIVE ONE AND JUST SIGN UP AGAIN WITH A NEW I.D. SHE TOOK THE BAIT. ONCE SHE WAS NO LONGER REGISTERED I ASKED E BAY TO PLEASE REMOVE THE NEG AS SHE WAS NO LONGER REG. ANY WAY. POOF. SHE WAS COMPLETELY GONE AND SO WAS THE NEG. BUT THE NEG MARK STILL SHOWED ON MY CARD.

I AM STILL HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THE SELLER CURSING BACK TO THE BUYER. OR CURSING AT THE BUYER PERIOD.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON.......
