I get a fair amount of smut --but the real problem is spam from gambling casinos on the web. I am getting 8 to 10 per day and I never -ever-ever-visited a casino site??????

Do you mean the ones for penis enlargement cream?? (what the heck is that stuff?) and sex toys? I like the sex pills you can order... "have explosive sex... every time!" I don't know... it all sounds like too much work to me.

To keep your soul as white as heaven, just hit delete when you see the "naughty xxx" suggestions in the subject line of your email. If you need a list of words to look out for, let me know.

Helenjw...
Aren't you familar with the latest in spammer methods. Alot of my naughty XXX spam has subjects like. "In response to your inquiry", "just wrote to let you know" and other disarming and unassuming subjects designed to get by filters and trick you into opening them. Because the email address I get them on is a business address, I do get valid email with similar subjects.
I live in my own little world, but it is Okay...They know me here.
The new spam technique represents the latest attempt to bypass the increasingly sophisticated e-mail spam filters employed by leading Internet service providers and individual users.

Sure, mlecher!
I had one today from "Friendfinder" with only "Hi" as a subject. I deleted it because I didn't recognize the sender. I would also delete the subjects that you mentioned if I did not recognize the sender.

Well thats you Helenjw, but for a business, we get lots of inquiries for purchases from senders we do not know. If we were to delete all email from unknown senders, we might as well shut the business down.
This also applies to all sellers on ebay.

I'm talking about the ones that state they will enlarge your p**** and they indicated they have a guarentee. Also the ones that say the info you requested.... and about two days in a row there was some emails what had rapes and tortures and oh- yuk I delete those so fast. I just wish they all would stop. I hit block sender and delete all of those.

It's not a big deal, mlecher. I can tell an ebay customer from a sex site. If you can't, I'm sure that you can cope.

You must be getting my share, because in the last week I've hardly gotten any. I just delete them when I do. What gets me is if you forward them like to the FTC you have to open them to do it. That doesn't make sense.

*popping in and waving 'hi'*

well, choco, I guess they found out your penis is already Super Sized
I'm not sure how, but apparently consumer marketing has me targeted as an aging gay man with bad credit.
what's up with that?
I have no need for Viagra, a big schmeckle (Mark's is just fine ), men-seeking-men, or debt consolidation.
go figure........

free webmail accounts are going to give you more spam rather than less...they want you to sign up for their paid services...
NEVER, when logging in to a web page, give your correct email address, age, name or anything else... unless you are making a purchase on a secure site. throw away all the lame jokes, chain letters and good luck wishes your friends forward to you and if you must read them, dont click on any links..most of that crap comes from sites that harvest and re-sell email addresses. NEVER hit the link that says you can "unsubscribe" from spam..that just tells them you are a live one, and as such your address is more valuable. Virtually every friendly site that has a newsletter they want to send you, will also add your email to lists they are selling to spam advertisers....READ the privacy policies of sites you must give correct info to...they will usually tell you they are not responsible for third party links on their own pages.
LEARN how to routinely dump your browser's cookie files....like daily....those cookies are following you across the net and your browsing habits are being reported to advertisers...this is not paranoia, it's fact. If you have passwords, email addresses and account log-ins stored on your computer to make your net experience "easier" and you use win-doze and Internet Exploder without a firewall, your personal information is at risk every time you dial up or sign on to the net.Protecting yourself takes daily work, but
nobody on the internet will ever do it for you....

Thanks for the very interesting link, Linda! I suspect that if everyone began to turn off Microsoft Messenger on their computers, Bill Gates would make it a priority to add security to this high vulnerablity in MS Messanger.
