When cleaning out the bottom cupboards, I realized I have about 12 cleaners... Lysol, Dettol, Spic & Span, 409, Fantastic, Lestoil... you name it. I suppose they all work, but I'd like to get rid of them all and get down to one basic cleaner that works well on everything. Any suggestions?

A tiny bit of ammonia added to water works well on a lot of things. Cuts grease and dirt and I've had great success using it on windows. No streaks. [Don't use the one with soap added] Stronger dirt? More ammonia. Don't use it in unventilated areas though.

Believe it or not, I use Oxy-Clean and that Orange cleaner stuff ( as seen on TV infomercials !!).

The Oxy-Clean works very well- I even shampoo carpet with it, it removes fabric stains like nothing else I've ever used, and works real well on synthetic surfaces. I use the Orange stuff on woodwork.

in a 1 qt. spray bottle, put in 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water, with a schlug of rubbing alcohol (helps it dry faster). works on almost everything and is so cheap it's almost free...my wife likes to use the wintergreen alcohol ...adds a little minty freshness to the countertops!

I use vinegar and water with a few drops of tea tree oil. Baking soda for the scrub work.

Vinegar does work GREAT

We had some hard water spots around the drain in the bathroom sink that nothing would remove. Even asked the plumber, he said they won't come off. WELL ~ hubby takes some white vinegar straight not diluted, lets it soak on the stain for maybe 20 minutes, came right off using one of those green thin scrub pads with gentle pressure !! UNREAL to me !

Also, I was finding ~ using Windex on mirrors they were getting cloudy especially the one were I use my hairspray.
With vinegar diluted half with water in spary bottle, clean once, no streaks or cloudiness at all !

Also, we had one of those fake wood floors put into my large bathroom, the installer said clean with ... vinegar nothing else !

I have converted to vinegar, doesn't smell so great but hey, it's cheap and works best !

Vinegar is awesome but I can't stand the smell ~
I swear by Simple Green.
Awesome degreaser & cleaner, no offensive odor.
One of my three favorite discoveries, just after Super Glue & WD40!

I swear by Simple Green also. First came in contact with it in the Army. Degreased and cleaned an engine beautifully. Was so glad when it went commercial. And that Root Beer scent.....

Hi zoomin! WD40 is a miracle, isn't it?

One thing for sure I know that works is Fantastic on clothes. Men always get oil stains from spaghetti or salad dressing on the front of their shirts and if you don't see the stain before you wash and dry, you're toast. I spray Fantastic on the stains and let it sit for a couple hours. Even on old oil stains that have gone through the dryer many times come out... so I have to keep the Fantastic... Just thought I'd pass that on.

Hi Krafty!
Cool trick!
What is it about men/boys?
They always seem to get assaulted by spaghetti & chocolate ice cream.....
