I better check my spelling. It PET peeve!

Every once in a while, it's great to let off some steam by telling someone what bothers you! So what is your pet peeve?

Here's one of mine. It people who park in the fire lane of the store when it starts to sprinkle or rain lightly. There are sign posted that say "NO PARKING, FIRE LANE". They fit into many catagories, young, old, black, white, male, female and all the rest. Are these people above the law, are they lazy, arrogant or all of the above?

Your turn!

My pet peeve are the jokers that I have to drive behind every morning on the way to work doing 25 in a 35 because they don't pay attention to the speed limit signs. So my observation is this, either they don't have a license and are afraid of being pulled over, they are drunk, they can't read, or they're just plain stupid. It makes you want to scream at them . . . oh, ya, I do!

Mine is the jerks who think they have a god given right to drive faster than the speed limit, and tailgate no matter how fast the car in front of them is going...hugging your tail three inches behind you...in my state, when you rear end somebody, it is ALWAYS your fault, no matter what the car in front of you was doing...someday I'm going to be in the old pickup, my seat belt will be buckled, my license will actually be in my pocket and there won't be any passengers, and an upscale dipstick in a well insured and not fully paid for car who makes a habit of taking out his frustrations by tailgating is going to buy me a new pickup after that kitty cat runs in front of me and I am forced to STAND on the brakes!!

Punch a bag, take a pill, have a beer, leave 5 minutes early, but leave your agressions at home when you get behind the wheel, what's wrong with giving people a little space?

profe 51,

I can understand that one. I have thought of doing that too. I would only change the kitty to a large dog. Make sure no one is on the sidelines that could witness your actions. No one in their front yards, and no other traffic around at least in the back of you. Make sure your brake lights are working. And MOST IMPORTANT, make sure no one but the driver is in the car behind you. No passengers for witnesses that way.

yup to all of that....tailgaters have it coming...it's amazing to me that they don't realize that in many areas, if you are following too close, you are legally in the wrong from the get-go, regardless of how fast or slow traffic is moving, it is YOUR responsibility to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, plus; it's just plain bad manners.

My Pet Peeve is having people ask me questions because they are too lazy to go do the homework for themselves. Instead of getting up from their desk and look up the word in a reference book, they expect others to do just as good a job. It doesn't matter if I find them on the job, in the grocery line, or here in the Round Table, I dislike lazy people asking me questions that they could very well go answer for themselves without bothering me about it.

Don't get me wrong: if it is something difficult to understand and I can explain it, I will. But so many times, it is as simple as typing in a few Key Words at Google.com to learn everything that you could possibly want to know about nearly anything. In that case - don't bother me!

The tailgate people are pretty bad. The other day a girl crashed into the rear end of my truck because she was eating nachos and not paying any attention. She even came up to my vehicle to talk to me while still eating the nachos, did not even set them down in the seat after hitting me! But my number one pet peeve: I work in an office where part of my job is answering the phone. When I tell callers my boss is taking another call at the moment, 98 percent of the time they will ask, "How long will he be on the phone?" That just annoys the heck out of me. How am I supposed to know? He is in a different room than me, if he called them then I don't even know who he is talking to, much less what it is about or exactly how long it will take. I keep telling him one of these days I will answer, "2 minutes, 40 seconds" and see what the response is. Probably, "Okay, I'll call back then".

People talking on handheld cell phones while driving. I have been cut off many times by these dangerous lunatics.

Yep, talking on phones while driving is a pet peeve of mine.

But even more annoying are the people who see nothing wrong with accepting (& making) calls anywhere & everywhere. In movie theatres, department stores, markets, libraries, bathrooms--hell in Vegas they even have to be chased away from tables. And, of course, they can't speak in a normal voice--no, cell phone users find it necessary to practically *yell* so that the rest of us are forced to be part of their conversation. I simply can't understand the new need to be in contact with everyone 24/7...

The fools in cars that cut off semi's (18 wheelers) in moving traffic & think something weighing 80,000#'s can stop on a dime. And get irate when they are run over.
