Remember that old ditty? nobody loves me, everybody hates me! I'm gonna go into the garden & eat a worm!

Turns out certain types of worms may be able to help cut down heart disease

Interesting. What will they come up with next? Wonder how long until the study results will be in.

I know they've been preaching about the benefits of eating more fish, for years. And lately it seems that most everyone we speak to has had their doctor tell them to start taking Fish Oil Concentrate to help bring their levels down. Most of us have stopped taking as it upsets our stomach too much.

From your article: The "Western" diet is rich in Omega-6, while higher concentrations of Omega-3 can be found in many types of fish, including mackerel, tuna and salmon.

We've had threads on here where we've spoken about high cholesterol levels before and I'm curious to know [if you care to share] if yours have improved?

I'm not eating nematodes! But I will eat flax seeds.

yes, my cholesterol did improve...while I followed the diet I was on. Since my accident, I'm afraid I've slipped back into my bad old patterns of eating. Note to self: in the new year, get back on diet!

Not to go off topic bunnicula, but on the site you provided, there's a story about ebola possibly being transported by birds! My gawd! What good would looking younger and lowering your cholesterol be if ebola came here?

Actually, it has already come to the US--in 1989, the virus was discovered in some monkeys that had been imported (IIRC, from the Philippines). No human in the US has contracted it, however.

..while I followed...I know what you mean, that's the hard part. Changing habits that we've had for a lifetime doesn't come easy.

The find feature is always very useful when understanding Linda's comments. I learned it from Irene and other new people here may benefit from this tip.

If you want to quickly find a phrase or a word on a page that is not easily clear just press Ctrl and F at the same time to access the Find feature...type in "while I followed" for example or any other word or phrase that you are looking for and it will locate the phrase or word. You may have to press the find feature more than once, of course.
