TV's Springer considering U.S. Senate bid (Ohio)
Laugh! Go Ahead! I did. Until I had a chance to listen to him on CNN's Crossfire today.
Among many points that he made -- very good points, well thought out and to the heart of matters, was this:
No one is talking about how we are going to control biological, chemical, and nulear Weapons of Mass Destruction (WOMD) . WHAT good will Bombing Bagdad do about WOMD?
There are only three possible answers, he said.
ONE: That Saddam does not have WOMD. So what's the point of bombing Bagdad?
TWO: That Saddam does have WOMD (most likely, he agreed), but now they are out of the country and dispersed to countries like Syria or terrorist networks for safekeeping. And should American bomb Bagdad, they'll use it to drop canisters over Kansas City. So what's the point of that?
THREE: That Sadam has WOMD in his possession and will use on the troops and our allies them if we bomb Bagdad. So what's the point in that?
ANN COULTER, syndicated columnist, that is so foam-at-the-mouth Republican that she makes Rush look like a limp-wristed pinko commie, was also on the show and she was all set to blast anything that Jerry said. But, it ended up where she didn't disagree with him.
He made a lot of other points that made sense and if you get a chance to listen to him make some points, it would be worth listening to him.

Jerry has held public office before, he was mayor of Cincinnati Ohio and was on track for higher office until, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, he wrote a check for services rendered to a hooker in Kentucky, and it hit the press.
The next time we hear from Jerry, he is living in Chicago and on syndicated TV.
If Jerry does run for office again, I hope he is smart enough to have been paying with cash.

Lol!
While I was watching that show, I was thinking how sad that Jerry Springer is making more sense than the President of the US.

Jerry has a scum show, but I have always liked JERRY himself. Smart man. Too bad his guests and the ones watching his show dont realize hes laughing at them. On second thought...why not laugh at them, since they are all so damn ludicrous.
Its also too bad that Jerry will never live down being host of that show, regardless of his own intelligence. Then again, maybe hes laughing at those who are so shallow minded as to judge his "smarts" for something as dumb as his tv show.

Jerry Springer also used to do an op-ed piece on the local rock-n-roll radio station, before he was mayor, in the late 70's. They were very progressive opinions, for an ultra conservative city. But he lost all respect, in Cincinnati, after that check fiasco.

Why? For paying to get laid and getting busted for it? Dumb reason. Just like it was dumb for people to whine and wring their hands about Clinton. Men pay to get "some" all the time. Most just dont get caught.
Is there a rolleyes smiley around this joint?

Of course the Check & Hooker incident was brought up - again. Jerry said that it happend 35 years ago and he's apologized "millions of times since" and it isn't relavant anymore. Please note that no Republican that can remember anything more than six months will recall during the Impeachment Hearings for Clinton, Henry Hyde's pecceddlio just a mere 20 years prior. And HH was married at the time. I don't think Jerry was. I doubt that it's a point that will make anyone cringe.
Asked by an audience member if this (Jerry Springer for Senate) makes Ohio degraded like Minnesota was degraded with Jesse Ventura (not my words/question) and the reply from the gy on the Right was that this was the same state that just had James Traficant, so there wasn't much Ohio could do to embarrass itself any more than that.
Jerry was Right On with the People's Agenda and how they feel and think. He knows how we are here, whther one world view or another is our mutual fustration with our governemtn and the crap that BOTH SIDES have been up to. If it makes you like Jerry a bit more, let me say that Tom Daschele already came out against having Jerry Springer onboard. That won my support for Jerry immediately.

A lot of the skills span both professions.
At least he is capable of analyizing the consequences of actions. That is something Mandela complained of this week - that Bush is not capable of considering the possible consequences of his actions.
I get the impression he thinks the US is so big and bad that no matter who tries to oppose him they can be knocked down,
Technology is so dangerous now even an individual can do trmendous harm.
Being on good terms with as many people as possible is good. Of course some people won't let you be on good terms with them no matter what you do. But making enemies when you don't have to is a foolish thing to do.

Heck, the check was to pay for the dinner and movie they didn't go to.
I think that is why prostitution is illegal, the state and the local establishments don't get their cut....
Otherwise, why would it be legal to spend 50 bucks on her dinner and take her to a movie then for drinks....then go have sex, but wrong to give her the 50 and have sex.

We call them our heroes...but we pay them like chumps

I also recvall that during the Clinton Impeachment hearings, Larry Flynt was digging up dirt on the Republicans. He found one woman representative from Idaho who had a marraige infidelity while in office. Idaho turned around and elected her to another term in office.
