I too believe that to be self evident.
BUT
Your individual interests, or the common good, mean little when an ‘entity’ contributes BIG$.
It’s kind’a like prostitution, favours for dollars, not altruism or love.
Jerry Springer and ALL other politicians know how it works.
“Springer figures it would take $20 million to beat Voinovich and as much as $5 million to win a Democratic primary.”

My position is that the politicians are mistaken. Money does not get you elected - votes do. Money helps to get your name out there, but it seldom gets your message out, which is what people want to hear in order to know how to vote. In my mind, they are merely enriching themselves at our expense. I mean, which of them isn't sneaking SOME bribe money into offshore accounts? And how would we ever know about it? We can't, since during the start of the Reagan Era, Congress made itself Above The Law and no one in Congress can be investigated by any police agency. Human nature being what it is, and the history of politicians in office, I suspect that the bribe money is mostly going into their pockets. They have also been lying to us as they flaunt the bribes, telling us that all that money goes for re-election campaigns. If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you . . .
