Isn't it amazing how his story continues to get stranger by the minute? I'd have to say the documentary (or whatever you'd want to call it)...was some of the most riveting television I've seen in quite awhile....

I'm sure he donates his share of money to charities...but with all the cash he seems to be throwning around, if he's that "sincere" about love in the world...it's interesting to note that he hasn't done much to put his "resources" to better use......

In the same way that professional athletes seem to be an easy target for accusations of sexual assault, he makes himself the easiest target by his overt statements and actions with children. Whether or not he is a pedophile we may never really know, but what is obvious is that he is mentally ill and is stigmatizing his kids.

I watched the special also, and found parts of it disturbing; but the most disturbing of all was when he was sitting there bottle-feeding his baby...something about that scene sent shivers up my spine. He definitely didn't look like a 44-year old father to me.

There's a butterfly net somewhere out there with Micheal Jackson's name on it.

I suspect that Michael Jackson is laughing all the way to the bank, while he makes more money with his eccentric behavior than he makes as a singer.

Sometimes you suspect that strange behavior by "stars" is put on to produce attention and income - but I did meet the man once and he struck me as being truely warped. No eye contact- dead fish handshake - apparently unable to carry on a normal conversation and painfully shy - more than shy - unconnected. His mom is as pleasant and down to earth as he is spacey.

Helen, not quite. Recent reports have the operating expenses at Neverland at up to 30K a day. His last album was a commercial bomb, not coming close to recouping promotional costs and he has become a PR nightmare which makes the concept of investing large amounts in his next effort damn near nil.

The only reason he llowed the interview in the first place was the large price ticket placded on it and his delusional belief that it would rally the public behind him and help spur sales.

Remember, this is the guy that once valued privacy above all else and is now doing interviews and picketing outside his label looking for unpaid poyalties. Don't forget also that the whole nose issue came back into the spotlight during the trial where he is being sued for millions for canceling concerts in europe.

Like most musician who see big record sales and advances and think they are financially set, he spent bigger and faster than any recording artist would be able to cover for the long haul.

Michaels best bet is to start writing and selling his songs. The money is in publishing anyway and lord knows he's never going to have a successful tour or album to keep up with his expenses.

I have no information about Michael Jackson's assets. The fact that one or two albums didn't sell well is probably not good reason to believe that he is in financial difficulty. I did read that he was making more money talking than singing.

Helen I was not basing the statement on the sales of his last record. I was stating that the sales of his last records have added to his problems. He is not getting any royalties from it as a result of poor sales, add that to the fact that he is in a multi record deal with Sony record whose head he has recently been referring to as the devil and future earning potential is not the best. His greatest potential source of income is the Beatles catalog he purchased but since he shares ownership with Sony they get a vote in just much widely he can allow usuage (commercials, sampling etc). Since Sony is aware of his financial troubles and wants to own the rights outright they could very concievably withhold approval from ay usage until Jackson is amenable to a buyout.

According to CNN his net worth is 800 Million with curent debts of 200 million. He is currently involved in a 20 milion dollar suit with a german promoter he no showed on and a south korean bank over fees on 200 million in financing they arranged for him from 1998-2000.

Is he destitute? No, but he won't be laughing all the way to the bank any time soon. Look for Jackson holdings to hit the market in the next year or so as the judgement on the german promoter suit comes down and daily expenses at the 50 employee ranch start to put a big crunch on cash on hand.

I don't give a hoot about Michael Jackson and his personal problems, if he has any.

I just have a problem with this type of gossipy news dredged up by the media to make bucks rather than focusing on telling the truth about what's happening in the world today.

Maybe we should impeach the media.

The special on Jackson was not journalism. It was too gossipy and editorialized to be put in the same category.

As for Jackson's ability to survive with his ongoing expenses and large number of employees; in 1984 he bought the publishing rights to most of the Beatles' songs. I don't know if he still owns them, co owns them with Sony, or sold them to Sony but I do suspect his accountants aren't fools and he will continue to live better materially than you or I.

I also believe for the most part he is what he says he is. A child.
