it hardly seems it's been 15 years since I would see bands like Great White in concert in a small midwestern club. Watching the film of last night it's spooky to think back at all the pyro set of during those shows. After reading about the fire last night and the still missing guitarist I went decided to check out his mentioned website. On it I found an entry from him updating fans on goings on left just two weeks ago. Just the story of a happy go lucky "kid", living life, enjoying his family, fans and bandmates.....

We'll undoubtedly see heart-wrenching bios of many of he victims in coming days but somehow his sheer joy for al that he was doing in his own words without dramatic background music and fding images is the one I'll always remember.

The economy is collapsing, WWIII may be near and I'm so happy on the road!!!!!

Yes kids it's time for another Ty journal entry that is long overdue. I don't even own a laptop, so out on the road it's a bit tougher for me to get here! Been to quite a few places in the last month and have met lots of new people. First off the NAMM show, for those who don't know it is the biggest music merchant convention in the world held in Anaheim, CA. I was playing at the Bad Cat Amps booth demoing the finest Class A tube amps out on the market. I'm so happy and proud to be endorsed by such a great amp company. They have been getting loads of editor's picks in all the guitar mags lately and are building a strong rep as the best amplifiers on the market! So many great players at the NAMM show, that's my favorite thing, to walk around the NAMM show and take in all the incredible versatile players at the show. Then it was off to Hawaii for four days. We stayed at Waikiki Beach in Oahu and played three shows in Honolulu. I went for long run's each day up around Diamond Head Lookout which was incredibly beautiful! After a run I jumped in the ocean for some boogie boarding. Was a bit shy of the coral there which kept me pretty much in the shallow part of the ocean...what a wimp! The shows were great and the band was smoking as usual! I'm playing with the best musicians! Eric on drums is just insane! It's always such a pleasure to listen to him play. Dave is great and such a dedicated player, always practicing and constantly has his headphones on. We always make fun of him for wearing his headphones which have now fused to his head, but we love him anyway. Our singer Jack, well #*!@ what do I need to say, one of the very best rock singers out there. Then Kendall on guitar, and again what do I say, one of the all time underrated greats! So Hawaii was so much fun and I so did not want to leave! Back to LA for not even a day and then we flew out to Chicago to meet up with our tour bus and play in to cold Chicago. Quite a shock from Hawaii to Chicago in a day! Needless to say I came down with a horrible cold which I just now got over. Jack also has been fighting the same horrible bug. Finally got to see my honey Heidi in Chicago and spend a little time with her while there. Along with us on this tour is the band Trip and they are a great band and a fun bunch of cool guys. Come out to a show early to see these guys! You will not be disappointed! We played all over the too cold upper midwest for about 2 weeks. In Detroit we played Harpos to a great crowd. My Dad, Sue and some friends from my hometown made it up to this one making it an extra special show! I'm now in Georgia spending a few days off at my Mommy's. Had the tour bus drop me off here as we play in Tampa this Friday the 7th! Nice to get off the bus and relax a little. Ready to get back out and play the shows though! Hope you all dig the new look to the site. The fan pictures should finally be up in the next week. We are also working on some Ty Longley T- shirts which should also soon be up on the Merchandise page, so stay tuned. Let's all hope for a little peace in this world right now so we can all continue to enjoy music and have some fun on this globe! I say we send a bunch of bands, food, artists, strippers, bartenders, proctologists, psychologists and lots of love over to Iraq and North Korea for a big party! Would'nt that trip them all out? We could all have a good time listen to music, laugh, love and get a lap dance. Nobody would get hurt this way,(well maybe the proctologist would hurt a little) and we might find that we could all just get along. Well enough of my optimistic loving hippie thoughts, but hey I can dream can't I ? Oh yes I can.................and you can too!
