The only avenue left now is the U.S. Supreme Court or Jeb Bush. The 11th Circuit denied the stay and the Florida Supreme Court denied a last-minute motion.
Bush's last stay came 45 minutes before the execution (don't know where the counterpunch article got the 15 min. figure, but it's wrong) so I suspect the governor is not going to do anything. The U.S. Supreme Court rarely issues a stay this late.
edited to add: Just heard - Amos King pronounced dead at 6:43 p.m.

Maintaining his innocence until the end, death row inmate Amos King was executed by lethal injection Wednesday for the murder of a 68-year-old woman in her home 26 years ago.
King, 48, was pronounced dead at 6:43 p.m. at Florida State Prison, the governor's office said.
"I would like the governor and the family to know I am an innocent man and the state had evidence to that effect," King said in his final statement Wednesday. "I'm sorry for the victim's family, for all the things we have gone through."

To bad the governor does not have to answer for it if he is innocent.
There being no penalty for errors is unacceptable. It's not just an Opps.....

Yesterday,Feb.27th Jeb Bush was on a plane that was hit by lightning and put a hole in the plane. The plane landed OK,but I bet Mr.Bush was a little rattled and possibly his thoughts were of Amos King...

The Governor did exactly what he was elected to do. No more No less. It was the court that found him gulity not the Governor.
Right or wrong it wasn't his call.
Amen,
and justice for all,
Reverend Colin

No room for human error in your assessments,Colin? No compassion?

The governor has the authority to commute a sentence of death. We need some trail blazing governors who will say, hell no, I won't let this happen in my state again!
But the little pansie a... are so afraid they might lose a vote.

"His insistence that DNA testing could clear him of raping and killing Natalie Brady led Gov. Jeb Bush to issue a stay 90 minutes before King was to be executed Dec. 2. Bush lifted the stay this month after the tests yielded no new evidence."

He was tried and convicted by a jury not by a Governor. Blame the jury. It's not a perfect system but you won't find a better one anywhere on this planet.

colin,..inconclusive,doesnt mean guilt.I could sit here all day, and type out what it could mean to the parties envolved in the case, if he were to be proven innocent.
No need to pray for anyone sick...They are dieing.

"inconclusive" means that the dna on the victim was too degraded to provide a total match. Apparently there were some group matches (otherwise "no match" would be the resultant and vindicating answer). Unfortunatly, editorial commentary is not usable as evidence in court proceedings and to void or postpone an execution requires facts.
