I had Captain Penny and Captain Kangaroo. My children had Mr. Rogers. Another era icon is gone. How sad. He taught my children some very valuable lessons. Perhaps, where ever he is now he is doing the same.

Rest in peace, Mr. Rogers!

How sad indeed. What a decent human being he was. Prayers to his family.

Me too Cheryl. Romper Room, Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans. I even have my Mr. Doobee bee!

How sad that one of the Postive people have passed away. It seems that so many it is happening recently. Maybe we are at the end times and the really Blessed Folk are being taken away from us in preparation for those darker days. His light extinguished will darken all our hearts.

kraftdinner, I remember Romper Room (Captain Kangaroo, and the infamous J.P. Patches, he was local)

I (or rather my mother) sent a picture I drew, and they showed it on the program, and said my name...my 2 seconds of fame!

Mr Rogers was a very gentle, peaceful and happy person for all children, he will be missed

While we're getting nostalgic . . . anyone from the Cleveland area around who remembers Mr. Jingaling? I still have my key. Gosh, Romper Room. I remember sitting glued to the TV hoping she would say my name. The day she did, the world stopped for a moment. Imagine actually believing she was seeing YOU.

I remember watching him with my kids. Something about his voice and manner always put you at easy.

Had the Flu one time and was clicking through the different channels on the Boob tube and stopped when I heard his voice. For some reason I felt at ease and comfortable.

Always thought of that whenever I had a bad cold or the flu, always looked for Mister Rogers.
Amen,
God Bless you and RIP,
Reverend Colin
