News reports of foreigners being evacuated from an area where hostilities seem likely to occur is nothing new. In Iraq, foreigners have been leaving for over a month now. However, in a development today, Russia is getting its people the hell out of there as fast as it can. Baghdad Airport is said to have long lines of Russians fleeing the country, including government workers and diplomatic staff members and their families.

Why this is significant is to realize just how closely to the edge Russians like to play their cards. With their intended Veto vote threatening to block Bush from his conquest of Iraq, an announcement by the Bush Administration that Tony Blair was also going to allow Britain to go it alone. Which means that the United Nations is effectively overruled: hence the mass evacuation by Russian nationals.

Since Bush and Blair have decided that they do not need the United Nations after all and are poised to go it alone, I'm guessing that they are giving foreigners a chance to leave - recalling what happened to them during the prior Gulf action. To help them to escape, Bush has announced that he would give a Three-Day Warning so that foreigners can leave the area. By the time that he gives that out, few foreign personnel will be left in Iraq.

The military is now poised for striking, especially the Air division is ready to drop some 10,000 bombs the first day. All everyone can do is to wait until the hammer falls.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Peace Protesters in America intend on flooding the streets when the War breaks out. Keep an eye out for movement by the Office of Homeland Security or any other Un-American/anti-Constitutional actions taken by our government and report them here!

While listening to Tommy Franks last night, he said the U.S. isn't at the point to get its officials, reporters, etc. out of Iraq just yet. Since war seems inevitable, I thought that was strange.

It's when the UN inspectors are ordered out that things most likely will start. They're not going to bomb while their still there.

The U.N. inspectors haven't found anything yet, so maybe the U.S. will decide not to tell them to leave and blow them to high heavens too.

P.S. Linda, I find the U.S./Iraqi thing a sad situation for everyone and although you and I might not agree, I still care for you and your posts, so no apologizing for anything OK?

With France, Germany, Russia and now China getting ready to veto any decision to go to war, aren't we making more enemies than we need? Who wants to piss off China? And, don't you agree that tending to Korea should be a more pressing issue than it has been? I believe that Korea possess the arms to hit the US without ever leaving Korea. I don't believe that Iraq has that capability as yet. There is no way that Iraq is going to totally disarm now. Not when he knows that even if he did, Bush would blow Iraq apart anyway. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Blair is just as bad as Bush. Maybe even more so since apparently he's Bush's puppet. He (Blair) totally supported everything Clinton said when he was in office and the two couldn't be more different. I don't think Blair has a mind of his own. The people of the UK don't want this war anymore than the rest of us peace loving individuals. I think the two of them, Bush and Blair, need to be sent to live on their own little island since they seem to be in a world all their own anyway.

Now would be the time for all the human shields to return to Bagdad & find out just how precise the smart bombs really are.

Not according to Bush or his supporters. In fact, they state that they feel that America is so powerful that no one is going to dare to oppose anything that they want to do.

Of course, if they're wrong, its US who will have to bear the brunt of that failed policy!

I suggest that we put Bush?War supporters in front of our troops as Human Shields. Do you think that we can convince them to do that? After all, it's the only PATRIOTIC THING ... right?

I think we will start bombing between the 13th and 17th. Then again maybe Saturady Morning.
