I was thinking that maybe using the word "war" has made everything seem more intense than it really is. To me, war is when there's a battle between 2 fairly equal sides, not one massive army against a tiny one. The "war" in Afghanistan wasn't really a war at all. The same with Iraq. The U.S. can obviously whip their a$$es, so should this be called a war too? There's an ongoing war on terrorism, same as the drug war, so in effect, the U.S. will be at "war" forever. Don't you think a new handle should be used?

With Iraq, massacre would be definitive -- maybe pillage?

At this point if Sadam went on TV and cut his guts out on camera and keeled over Bush would say it was a trick and invade anyway.

It was a done deal and decided when they started shipping all the troops over. If they just outright surrendered they'd go in to occupy so what can they do?

The problem really is no longer Iraq. Because of Bush's continuing arrogant behavior and his failing to prove his case against Iraq, the world is now focusing on what they feel is American Imperialism. Not only do we have terrorist organizations against us along with their state sponsors, but now we are making staunch enemies of the European nations and the Asian nations. Within a short periosd of time, Iraq will be seen as of little consequence to a world awakening up and concentrating on fighting us. It'll be America-Britain-Australia vs. the World and Bush supporters will cheer up unitl the nukes start to fall out of the sky and devastate our cities in retaliation for Bush's arrogance. Only Satan enjoys this course of events -- are you with him?

The article below possibly explains the language and thought dysfunction, chest-thumping, and general disconnection from reality characterized by the Bush administration and the PNAC hencemen and which has puzzled people around the globe. Could it be that they're not really extinct??????????????????????????????????

We should call it an incident. That's all it will be in a few hundred years.

Remember, "The strong shall survive. "

I know most of you figure the Meek will inherit the earth but that's bull sh*t so get off your knees and join the human race. If you cherish it, learn to fight for your freedom.

Lots of arm chair quarterbacks, got a little lazy and fat, now your afraid of any kind of conflict.

This is much more then a moral issue. This is an issue of survival. It's tough to make that first move without backing but President Bush and the American Government are doing just that. Not taking the cowards way out.

"Lets wait and see if it disappears."

I got news for you. It ain't disappearing. If the world is a powder keg. I want to be the one that can control it. Not Iraqi, not France or any other nation.

Amen,
Clean that yellow stuff of your backs,
Reverend Colin

colin, if your son came to you and said he felt a classmate might become a threat to him, would you tell him to go punch his face in, just in case? Being aggressive doesn't mean you're courageous.

A punch in the face is a minor infraction. If he was in mortal danger I would tell him to cripple or liquidate the foe.

Your asking the wrong person that question. I don't and won't live in fear. I never have. I've been a bit of an outlaw most of my life. The old saying was "When in doubt, Knock them out."

My son did 5 years in the military and if necessary he will go back in. We believe in America and in Freedom.

Amen,
Reverend Colin

I think the lefties believe in America and in freedom, but they think you get it by appeasing murderous despots, and blaming themselves whenever we are attacked.

I think what all these anti-war people suffer from a from of battered wife syndrome. They think if they just take a few beatings, the enemy will stop and no one will get hurt.

Coalition of the billing?

LOL!

.........

The bazaar economics that lavished up to $US500,000 ($814,000) of aid on Pakistan, but denied Turkey a cent, has nothing to do with textiles and everything to do with rounding up both into Mr Bush's "coalition of the willing".

Not for nothing has the group been dubbed the "coalition of the billing".

Should we still call it a war? I don't really care what people call it. I care about the results.

A quote - by a smart man who understands how it works - "If you cherish it, learn to fight for your freedom." [Thanks to your son also, for his contribution to our country]

I've always found..and so far this has worked for me...that when sitting on a powder keg it's a good idea not to play with fire.

LOL!

We could call this brief era, The Great American Pillage. That would cover Bush's foreign and domestic agenda.

Ok...What exactly should the US do?
Put aside your political animosities and describe how we should deal with Iraq and the Middle East.
But please be specific. I'm open to suggestions.
