I'm confused, Prof.
Why would a left wing Communist sympathize with a right wing dictator?
It seems more logical for a right wing sympathizer to support a right wing dictator.

Ah... I just read some other threads. Sorry, Prof. I should have known you'd be smarter than that.
As usual, I am astonished that American schools don't seem to teach much history.

He must be in league with the anti-war movement in this country. It is widely know that this movement is completely composed of communist sympathizing, anti american anarchists and other dummies.
edited to add..don't worry about it stockticker,I can't find an emoticon for "tongue in cheek", and you're right about history curriculum.

It just boggles my mind to think that some Americans think that Saddam is a communist with communist sympathizers in the U.S.

That logic escapes me too. What the neo right will tell you though is that the communist rabble rousers will seize any opportunity to support any cause which goes in the face of whatever the US gov't is trying to do, regardless of whether the US' foe is a fellow pinko or not. I don't doubt that there are some nutballs out there at rallies who actually feel this way. What gets me is the simplistic assumption that ANYONE who takes an anti-war position is either one of these lunatic fringe types, or is so stupid he has allowed himself to be duped by them.

Saddam's Iraq is a socialist dictatorship. That's probably another reason why France, Germany, and the communists are against the war.
The communists are running the protests over here in the US. They get all the pinko liberals to go along with them.

The Socialist and Communist sympathizers will do anything to belittle or interrupt a Democratic society.
Not thinking the leftist have a big hand in the war protest would be foolish.
People are against the war for many reasons. I can respect some of their views.
Many have ulterior motives. Those I can't respect.
Some are in for the party. I can understand that too.
Then there's the truly stupid that have no idea what the hells going on at all. Sheeple.
Amen,
Let the games begin,
Reverend Colin

From the Article
"I am not resigning to placate those who have demanded same .I do not fear them in the least. I was quite willing to stand and face an ouster vote. I am resigning because I cannot support the Republican position on this war. I only sought the position of Chairman originally in the hope that I could recruit God-fearing, thinking, pro-life believers in our Constitution to stand for office."
Why is he facing an ouster vote from other Republicans in the county that have been demanding that he resign? I do not think this has anything to do with anti-war, this is just straight politics. A way to resign and save a little face, instead of being thrown out of office

Wow - somebody else read it slow enough to notice that too.
Once you have their emotions stirred people only see us and enemy.
They usually attach the easiest label to remember to enemy. Actually having to remember that there are several different views of the world taxes their brains.
I once worked at a state university and my boss was a member of the John Birch Society. It didn't matter who he was mad at - Democrates - Israelis - Librarians (yes I meant to say that) -Indians - Jehovah's Witnesses - metric system users - they were all communists.
He lived in a state of panicked anger because he felt 98% of the world was enemy.....

If he was serious about making a change, why did he resign? His voice would be heard a lot longer if he stayed. There's got to be more to this resignation then what's stated.
Amen,
