White house press sec: "Fleischer also would not predict when the war would be declared legally over."
Huh? If they don't formally follow the constitutional provisions for declaring war why make a big show if declaring it over? They have made clear they do whatever they want because they can and nobody has the power to gainsay them. So why do they owe any notice to anyone all of a sudden? They have to reunite prisoners of war if the war is over? - but shucks - they can declare they are not prisoners like all the hundreds from Afganistan. They can ship them all off to Cuba if they want. Nobody can stop them. If they want to just line them up and shoot them in the head who would stop them? The French?
I don't understand this declaring it doesn't matter what anybody thinks and a few weeks later worrying about declaring a formal end.
These people must believe their own double talk. That's scary.
