It's not surpriseing considering we keep giving money away, we keep allowing corporations to move their operations out of the country while still providing services to our government and we spent billions on a war that still hasn't produced proof of the so-called weapons of mass destruction. Bush spends our money like it's his own. I liken it to a woman with a shopping addiction. Spend, spend, spend until forced into bankruptcy. On the war, I like to put it in this perspective. I get angry and I break all the dishes in my cupboard. Sure, I feel better afterwards but, who has to clean up the mess and who has to pay to replace all those dishes? That thought keeps me from going in that direction.

What that analogy meant was that we tend to do things first and think about the consequences later especially in the heat of the moment. Like having to rebuild Iraq when there is so much of the US that needs to be rebuilt and so little money to do it. I wasn't making light of the war, as you seem to think.
