Last week I donated blood as part of a local blood drive and also joined the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), which is the international leader in the facilitation of unrelated marrow and blood stem cell transplantation. A non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minn., the NMDP facilitates unrelated marrow and blood stem cell transplants for patients with life-threatening diseases who do not have matching donors in their families.
Please consider joining this program - you may be the only person who can provide life-saving stem cells to a patient in need!

Worthwhile organization! Wish I could donate. I had cancer treatments a few years ago and I'm afraid my body is probably still trying to expel all the radiation. It's had enough trauma to last a lifetime and I just can't put it through anymore. I would, however, urge others to do what they can. I donate time and money when I can.
