i have been enjoying supermarket ground beef and just today i realise it is sirloin and it is 3.54 lb.
no wonder it tastes so lean and fresh.
now i am wondering if i overpay,should i go for round??
i dont know if they have fresh ground round??
your expert opinion please!!

Sure it tastes great. It's ground up steak! I usually use ground chuck and you can find good ground chuck that is 78-80% lean. You don't want it too lean. A lot of the flavor is in the fat content. Season it up and to me it's just as good at 1/2 the price. I only use the really good ground meat for my spaghetti sauce.

Buy the round steak, grind it your self & you can control the amount of fat that is included. Plus it is cheaper.

it was always 2.94 a lb before and i think it is ground round freshly grounded every day.for some reason on that partiuclar day,they have ground sirloin and it is more money.
it should go back to ground round or they will lose me as a customer.
i use a foreman grill to prepare the burger and all that fat is pressed out.
