Speaking of alcohol, a Jim Beam warehouse in Bardstown, Ky. was struck by lightning
and caught on fire destroying over 800,000 galons or 19,000 barrels of whisky.
Charlton also reported that flames were "burning furiously"
as the fire spread to a nearby pond. Firefighters were trying
to prevent it from spreading to a creek. Several fire
departments reportedly were at the scene.
The company said the warehouse was storing about 19,000 barrels
of whisky. That's about two percent of its aging bourbon inventory.

Prof...NO beer is really bad..
What about Blatz? As a kid I was convinced it was named for the sound my grandfather made while sitting on the plastic covered couch the day the day after he drank it!

HA! I'd forgotten about Blatz...in college, we used to get Blatz longneck returnables in a big heavy box 24 at a time. 4 bucks deposit for the cardboard and glass, and 4 bucks for the beer. I remember some old geezer telling me at the time that before Blatz was bought by Pabst (I think) it had been one of wisconsin's finest brews. At the time we didn't care, it was cheap, and the buzz was worth the headache. I guess I'd try one even now, given the choice between a Blatz and no beer at all. If it's cold enough almost anything's drinkable. Good one about the plastic covered couch, my nana had one of those right here in this house. No fun to sit on when you're hot and sweaty
