I was amused watching the news today. They were SO indignant that an arms dealer would sell a shoulder launched missle to someone and not care who it was used against.
And yet both the former Soviet government and the American government made thousands of these missiles and flooded the Middle East and Asia and Africa with them. They knew that hundreds if not thousands of people - many innocent - would be killed by them. Where was THEIR concern then?

They were wailing and wringing their hands that it would cost $10 billion to retrofit airliners to be safe from them.
It would not be cost effective! I hope their butt is in a plane it would cost too much to protect! It would have been cost effective never to have made them.

Well guess what - you made them and the tin birdies have come home to roost you silly asses!

These would be almost impossible to make in a garage for even a skilled mechanic. But they set up high - tech assembly lines to crank them out. Is the world a safer place?

And nobody had the vision to see that such a small transportable item would not pass from their control?

Amazingly stupid. These are the men that run nations? I wouldn't trust them to unplug my toilet.

One could say; shoulder launched missiles don't kill people.....!?!

Isn't that something like the call from the gun lobby.

"What was the role of the arms dealer? DUPE nothing more, grist for the mill."

He's not just "an arms dealer". He is a Brit that is an ardent bin Laden supporter. The missiles were to be sold for just that reason,to attack Amerrican targets, not "to the highest bidder".

He was a salesman. He would have told Mother Teresa that the missiles caused peace and love if it would have gotten him the sale and more. $85,000 was a little bit high for that type of anti-aircraft missile.
