I'm sickened and disgusted by Arnold. He's just another politician afterall. He keeps talking but doesn't actually say anything.... Yes Arnold, we realize you are pro family, pro business but since I don't think that there is an anti business, anti family candidate that means NOTHING. Today he does a talk show and rather than talk about what he is going to do and why he is the candidate of choice he gives the same blah blah and then starts trash talking about Bustamonte.

If you want to run under the guise of not being just another politician than stop acting like another politiician.

Nor will Arnold say anything. He is being handled by the same team that brought us Pete Wilson. The party faithful will clear the field to increase his chances and we will be treated to more of the same. The media who have anointed him winner ignore any of the other candidates (specifically Camejo, Huffington and the remaining Republican who's name escapes me)

I've only seen him interview once, on Fox News....not on their set...they just showed him giving a speech. He's swearing he's not going to raise taxes. lol we'll see, arnold.
That's a pretty big mess CA's in right now.

But did he say pro-business or pro-corporations? Many on this board are anti-big business/anti-corporations.

What I got from his pro-business stance was that he wants to give special incentives to lure business back to CA. Many left because of the high taxes and no special write-offs.

No matter who gets elected...it sure looks like it's not going to be Davis. lol

From Yahoo News

The widespread funk has helped pound Davis' approval ratings to new lows: 72 percent disapprove of his job performance. State lawmakers fared even worse, with 78 percent of those surveyed annoyed at the lawmakers' budget and tax decisions.

The telephone survey of 2,001 adult residents was conducted Aug. 8-17 in English and Spanish. It has an error margin of plus or minus 2 percentage points. Among those surveyed were 1,540 registered voters, and 993 likely voters, a smaller sample that raised the error margin to a possible 3 percentage points.

Arnold isn't saying anything because he's planning to cut bloated government programs. If he says anything about it then he won't have a chance.

Arnold is perfect for the job. He's willing to do the dirty work and cut the state budget, which no other politician has the guts to do.

EAG - How do you know that? Are you on his staff? I don't think he has a clue what he is going to do. IF he does he has said nothing to imply it. He already proved with his comments regarding energy and education that he is not really in touch with what is going on in this state.

Linda - Yes - he has said that he is for drawing businesses back to California - he just has not said how. Problem is, everything he is campaigning as being Pro are things that all of humanity is Pro. He's pro kids, pro education, pro growth. HIs big selling point in his ads seems to be that he does not owe anyone any favors. That's only a selling point if you have the guts to come out and say what you plan on doing. The fact that he is now attacking his opponent for laying out his plans and letting people know what to expect is tacky.

fenix - He did. I mentioned it above. He said he'd offer incentives and promise lower taxes for businesses to return/come originally to the state. It has been done in the past.....years and years ago. They've just all left/are leaving because of CAs unusually high taxes.

But IF I were voting in CA, I'd vote for Tom McClintock rather than Arnold. I'd rather see a strong Republican in there than an actor. But hey, I didn't vote for Ronald Regan and yet thought he did a great job in CA.

I think it's going to be a three way tie...between Arnold, Tom and the Lt. Governer. About two weeks before the recall election, whichever Republican has the lead will fight it out with the Lt. Governor.

One thing I did hear on the news was a comment that voting for the Lt. Gov. would be like a repeat of Davis...which I agree with. CA needs a change.

Time will tell.

He was Pro Prop 187, that in itself should be enough to vote for him.

So glad I no longer live in that state...

Did anyone hear the Hannity radio show yesterday?

Arnold pretty much stated all his opinions. In quick yes-or-no fashion, unlike just about any politician I've ever heard who has to make a speech every time they open their mouths.

Replay - Did you see him on the Today show after he announced? He would not shut up. He was the worst example of a speach when a sentence would do I had ever heard and a lot of people were put off by it. I have a feeling his handlers read hi the riot act on that behavior. Good to hear he learned that lesson. I;m still curious as to how he is going to balance the budget and eliminiate the deficit while raising school fuinding and raising no taxes. Does he realize that teachers don't give up part of their salary for points on the earnings of the students after releae?

Schwarzenegger said, "Obviously I've made statements in my past that were ludicrous and crazy because that's the way I was".

Has anything changed? Past mistakes are only important for the other guy. Same old Republican BS.

The interview is so crude and vulgar that it can't be printed here. Schwarzenegger's Sex Talk

WOW!!! twelvepole you have LOTS of 'friends'.

According to a report out this month from the U.S. Census Bureau, an astounding 2,204,500 Californians threw in the towel from 1995 to 2000 and highballed it out of the "Golden State."
