70 Hummers were either torched or vandalized at a California dealership by a militant environmental group. Apparently distressed at conspicuous consumption, the England -based group had previously claimed responsibility for a $50 million fire at an apartment construction site in San Diego one month ago. I wonder how many pollutants were launched into the atmosphere as a result of these wanton vandalisms?

What comes as a surprise to me is that so many appear to be interested in buying these hummers with gasoline prices the way they are.

Linda - California is all about show. That was the most irritating part of both LA and now san Diego to me. Cars are not transportation - they are image. You are what you drive. One of my clients has one of the original Hummers. She says it's an amazingly uncomfortable vehicle to drive but because feels she must present a certain image. She's a brilliant business woman but I have not been able to find the logic in that decision.
