Wedding Party Shoots Down Plane

BELGRADE (Reuters) - A two-seater sports plane on an unauthorized joyride was apparently shot down by mistake when it flew over a Serbian wedding party where guests were firing guns into the air, local media reported Sunday.

Two men were reported to have sustained serious injuries when their aircraft burst into flames and crashed near Kraljevo, central Serbia.

"I heard shots from a wedding party which was very close to the crash site. Then I saw the plane in flames. It was shot in the left wing," witness Zoran Vukadinovic told reporters.

"A few moments later, while attempting a crash landing, it was caught in overhead power cables," he said.

Local media said neither of the men held a pilot's license.

Firing guns into the air at weddings and other celebrations is common in Serbia.

When I was 14, I saw a truck run a red light. It smashed into another car with a man & woman in it. She went through the windshield and was decapitated. The man was in hysterics. He took his coat off and put it over the girl. They were just married that day. True story.

When I was 14 I saw a covered wagon run into a buckboard and one of the riders were gored with a triple tree!
And to add insult to injury the horse took a crap on him as he laid there dieing in the mud!

When I was 14 I got the horse I had been hoping for for my birthday. First ride, he bucked me off into a fencepost. I spent the rest of my birthday getting a busted collar bone set

In the early 60s I was dating a guy who's older brother's new bride was killed on their wedding day. They had just left their reception and were off on their honeymoon, driving down PCH in CA, and were hit head on. He was injured but his new bride died shortly after the accident from her injuries.
