Any of you using Earthlink--heads up on a fraudlent email that is making the rounds. It looks very authentic:

Dear Earthlink User---During one of our regular automated verification procedures we've encountered a problem caused by the fact that we could not verify the data that you provided to us. Please, give us the following information so that we could fully verify your identity. Otherwise your access to Earthlink services will be closed.

To verify your information please follow this link: https://www.start.earthlink.net/track?billing.asp

Thanks for using Earthlink.

Sincerely,
EarthLink Team.

The link didn't work on the one I got, fortunately. So I went to my homepage & checked my billing info--it all looked OK to me. I used their 24 hour live chat & talked to a support person just now & was told that this is a fraudelent message. They had me forward the email to their abuse & fraud departments.

Thought I'd better warn you guys in case you get it, too!

in over 10 years ofusing Earthlink, I've never gotten anything like this. So thought I'd pass it along...

bunni - thank you for heads up! I have used Earthlink for over four years, and have never received anything like that. I haven't seen it yet, but will be sure to delete it if I do.

Thanks for that warning. It's the first time that I've heard of an Internet Service Provider being used by a crook. Never send any information such as that by email to any offer or request!
