They learned how to work around blocked words in the subject and text in very short order. Finally, my spam became so overwhelming that I had to limit my mail to only those people in my address book.

Hotmail's new system put suspected spam into a junkmail folder. It seems to be 99+% accurate. It also allows you to report spam for blockinging. I assume Hotmail builds a data base from the reported spam.
Prior to this system my account capacity would be maxed out in 48 hours due to spam. It hasn't happened since the new system.
But I guess I'll just enjoy it while I can since I am sure they will find a work-around.

Earthlink has a similar service. All mail is divided into two categories by earthlink...known spam and suspected spam. Earthlink removes "known" spam and you will only receive "suspected" spam or you may choose to eliminate both categories and just receive email from those in your address book.
I chose to eliminate both known and suspected spam. Now, I'm in complete control....until the spammers figure out a way to add themselves to my address book.
I haven't tried to sell anything on Ebay since the spam deluge began.
