EAG - We've been "discussing" this most of the afternoon on the "Is Kerry A Phoney?" thread. Colin started the thread and then took off....wait until I get my hands on him

Well, this just proves two things:

1) EAG can't read

2) Linda can't keep her hands to herself

As the site says
"After training, Kerry volunteered for Vietnam" Unlike GW.

It seems that in essence this site is trying to say that, ‘anyone who speaks against an unjust war, is a communist’.
It would have us believe that there is no place in a democracy for opinions differing from government policy.

Linda, I just checked out the "Kerry is a phoney" thread. You had some great links including the one with the KERRY - FONDA 2004 bumper sticker. Jane Fonda would make the perfect running mate for Kerry.

After training, Kerry volunteered for Vietnam

Where he served in the electrical department aboard the USS Gridley, a guided-missile frigate that supported aircraft carriers in the Gulf of Tonkin and was far removed from combat.Kerry initially hoped to continue his service at a relatively safe distance from most fighting, securing an assignment as "swift boat" skipper. While the 50-foot swift boats cruised the Vietnamese coast a little closer to the action than the Gridley had come, they were still considered relatively safe.

So if you had a "relatively safe" job as a swift boat skipper in Viet Nam, you are a commie, a traitor, but if the closest you've ever been to battle is being helicoptered to a ship that's 300 yards off the US coast to declare "mission accomplished", you're some kind of hero.....yeah, now I get it....

OK Prof & Snow, regale us with tales of your military experience, let your history or lack of it speak for itself.

Or is the only ware fare you've experienced a war of words. Your only wound a paper cut or attacked by a rabid stapler. True keyboard war-field hero's in your own minds, safely ensconced behind the shield of safety provided by those who served.

My military experience has no bearing on Kerry's Viet Nam service, and Bush's lack of Viet Nam service, bear. Neither does yours. In addition, your alleged service does not give your opinion in this matter any more validity than anyone else's, no matter how much you'd like us to think it does. Hoo-rah

Pretty words bear, and only two writing errors too! However it's you who's always taking the moral high ground by virtue of your alleged service, not me. I don't imagine myself a "war-field" hero, but it sure looks like you do.

Actually, Profe, I have worried that my Linda-hunts have kept you away in recent days, and I've sought a sort of detente with her in hopes that a 'reasonable-seeming' flow of discussion would lure you back to participate more frequently. It is rather dangerous for you to suggest at this point that my interludes with Linda have not influenced you negatively, for I have acquired several more vintage cereal boxes and expanded my vocabulary of chatboard-acceptable invective.
I shall lay upon you whatever blame my subsequent Round Table remarks should require!

Nah...it's starting to get busy around here...I'm behind in winter chores, the sheep have to be moved into different pastures, fences haven't been checked since Oct.,...and then there's work to think of..

Keep telling yourself that Prof, after a while even you will start to believe it.
