Republican Lawmaker Resigns After Bad-Check Charges And has already learned the 'I'm not well' defense

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- A 23-year-old lawmaker charged with writing bad checks and using his title to get a reserved parking place resigned Thursday rather than face expulsion from the New Hampshire Statehouse.

"I'm very sad to leave the House. I really feel that I belong there," said Rep. John Kerns, who claimed he has a medical condition that caused his behavior.

The legislative Ethics Committee had voted unanimously Wednesday to recommend that the House expel him. A House vote had been planned in March.

Kerns was accused of three ethics violations: writing bad state checks; using his title to get a parking place reserved for school officials; and threatening officials when told to stop parking there. He was also charged in criminal court with writing additional bad checks.

Other lawmakers applauded when Kerns' brief resignation letter was read on the House floor.

"It was a good resolution to a tough situation for everyone involved," said House Speaker Gene Chandler. "I think it was in his best interest, certainly. It was the first admission he needs to look at his situation."

This little fuctard skinhead sponsored the controversial parental notification bill regarding abortions for minors which was signed into law last year by NH Gov. Craig Benson.
He was also kicked out of serving in the University of New Hampshire student senate for bombarding a University administrator with inappropriate emails. Back then, just as now, he took no responsibility for his actions. Everyone else is 'wrong' in young Mr. Kerns' skewed world.

little fuctard

Thats being too kind for this brain dead fart.
However to think its only one party or group that winds up with a mental midget just does not hold water.
You can find these "tin wannabe gods" anywhere.

I know, Trai. There have been a rash of Democrat bashing (or Kerry bashing) threads here in recent weeks, so I'm just letting off a little steam.
