Anyone going to be watching the 76th Annual Academy Awards tonight?
If you are, which movie/actor/actress/etc. do you think will win?
There's the list of nominees:

Lost in Translation cleaned up at the Independent Spirit Awards but I think tonight the King will rule. I'm rooting for:
Best Actress - Charlize Theron
Best Actor - Bill Murray
Supporting Actor - Benecio Del Toro
Supporting Actress - Rene Zelleweger
Everything else is pointless in hoping for different ... Lord of the Rings will win them all

I've send Return of the King and exactly NONE of the others. So that's gotta be a step AGAINST ROTK.

That's J Lo's cast off wedding dress. Or maybe it could be her shower curtain.

I always watch the Oscars. Enjoyed them a lot this year. Agreed with almost all the awards, too. I had the same reaction, though, when I saw Uma Thurman's dress--I don't watch the pre-awards show, so I only saw it when she came on to present an award--but it got a "what the hell is that out of me.

I swear the only year she has not looked like she was dressed by 7 year old with hooker aspirations was the Pulp Fiction Year. I think Rene and Julia need to take Ms Uma under their wing.
BTW - Does anyone know what's the story on Diane Keaton? I have no problem with the Stuch in Annie Hall fashion era but what is the deal with the gloves?
And aren't we all glad after that line delivery on her presentation speach, aren't we all glad that Sophia Copala opted for a career behind the camera?
I missed the opening - What did you think Bunni - was it good?

I think Keaton just likes towear gloves. Nothing wrong with that. Was a time (& up intomy childhood) when women just didn't gooutside without gloves.
And yes, I liked the opening of the show with Crystal. Speaking of Keaton, he did a great take-off of "Something's Got To Give"--you know the part where Nicholson sees her naked? They inserted Crystal into that scene--sans clothes...

Have you heard the fashion advice --- when you look into a mirror, .the first thing that you see, take it off. What would Uma Thurman do? Lol
You do have to give her credit for leaving her milk pail at home.

Looks like you nailed that one, fenix. [With 11 awards going to Lord of the Rings.]
--------
neroter - Neither have I.
--------
On the 'dress'? I agree with mcjane's call on that one. Looks like a combination bathrobe/wedding dress to me.
----------
I was flipping back and forth between the Academy Awards and the Tim Russert Show....but I did catch the tribute to Katherine Hepburn...the quick run though different films she stared in. Saw her as a young actress....and as her career continued to develop. I LOVED her in almost all the movies she stared in, but most especially the one's where she and Spencer Tracy worked together.

Linda - I tuned in just in time for that one and I absolutely love the quote she gave Barbara Walters about owning a skirt. I saw more interviews with her than I have seen her movies and she was a riot. Smart, funny, quick witted and not afraid to say what she thought.... we need more like her.

In an interview, Barbara Walters asked Hepburn if she even owned a skirt (she was known for wearing pants long before it was common). Hepburn replied that yes, she did own one--and that she would wear it to Walters' funeral.

CoJo just nailed the description of Umas dress this morning on the Today Show..... She looked like a lap dancer at Octoberfest.

Well, who won? (Is it over yet?)
I watch TV about an hour a year, and HATE movies, so I have no idea about the awards. I did catch a glimpse of Joan Rivers though (Mr. Kraft was watching parts) and although I like her a lot, I think she's becoming too familiar with her plastic surgeon.
