I'm one of those "anyone but Bush voters"-I hope I learn to like John Kerry but I do think that leadership requires a high degreee of intelligence - I think Bush is a very average Joe who happened to be born into a rich, political family- Kerry on the other hand is a highly intelligent man who has to learn how to use his gift to best advantage- Both men suffer from hoof in mouth disease-with different symptoms-Bush is the king of Malaprops and Kerry sometimes speaks before he thinks things through-Too bad they are our only choices but I can't think of anything that would make me pull down that lever for George Bush and the cronies that pull his strings-

Vote for Kerry without any reservations. And guess what ? If he isn't getting the job done in 4 years, we can vote for someone else and get rid of him too. That's how democracy works. We can't predict how good any leader will be, but we can vote them out of office.

Dream On.

Better look back into Kerry's family history. President Bush may have been born into a rich family but Kerry was born sucking on solid platinum bottles.

And from a previous post of mine:

Kerry Would Be Third-Richest U.S. President

Rank Name Party Term
1. George Washington None* 1789-1797
2. John F. Kennedy Democrat 1961-1963
John F. Kerry** Democrat NA
3. Andrew Jackson Democrat 1829-1837
4. Lyndon B. Johnson Democrat 1963-1969
5. Herbert Hoover Republican 1929-1933

The Democrats ran on 'Honesty' and I told 'em at the time they would never get anywhere. It was too radical for politics. Bush supporters seem to pick up on insiginicant things and nit pick- I meant that Bush was a rich kid whose IQ would have him working at Mcdonalds if the family didn't have the money to subsidize him and get him out of the holes he dug himself into over the years- I know that Kerry comes from wealth- but he also was at the top of his class on his own merits-His money didn't keep out of Viet Nam- can we make a comparison there?

Look back into Bush's family history.

Frankly I'd vote for KoKo the gorilla before I'd vote for Bush.

Lol!!!

Based on his inability to speak extemporaneously in complete, coherent sentences and based on the conflicting remarks that he has made, it surely must be low rather than high. At the very least, he should be considered incompetent.

In fairness he may be very intelligent but have a disability like dislexia.
The majority of people still regard such a problem as shameful contrary to all reason. But he loses all of my sympathy for such a problem if he is in denial about it since that has the effect of selling out his fellow sufferers and perpetuating the bias against others.

"In fairness he may be very intelligent but have a disability like dislexia."

dyslexia - A learning disorder marked by impairment of the ability to recognize and comprehend written words.

He seems to be a competent reader. When given a script, he is able to read. The problem seems to occur when he is without such reading material. Is that a symptom of dyslexia too?

In case I doubted my own eyes and ears about how I came to this conclusion there was a report on TV the other day- Apparently a reporter got hold of some info about their prep school days-and made the contrast-I think with Bush it is in the genes- I remember when his father was running against Clinton and tried to show what a common touch he had- He went into a supermarket and couldn't figure out how to make a purchase- It was a fiasco-

According to news reporters, Bush senior appeared baffled at his first encounter with a supermarket checkout scanner...probably his first trip to the grocery store?

The super rich don't live like us.
The things they need every day just happen with such slick planning they have no idea what it takes to manage an ordinary life.
They never wait in line or worry about carrying change.
If they want to see a movie they arrange a showing at their home. No creeps with cell phones behind them or twitchy kids in the next seat.
Do you think Bush knows how long until his pickup truck needs aan oil change? Crap he propably doesn't remember what model it is or have any idea what it cost. It would be like buying a pair of socks for him. Unimportant.
How can people like this understand the problems of a senior on a fixed income or a person out of work with no 'in' of influemce and wealth to pave the way for them?

clancey - So it was just another 'rumor' then. You heard them say it on tv so it must be true huh? lol

Couldn't have been a case like the dems going on tv and spreading other rumors about this President, which when challenged they later admitted were rumors, but they kept spreading them anyway...just for the heck of it.

Or did you just make that up?

You mean like the whole AWOL issue that just wasn't true?

Or the part about Bush cutting Social Security, which is a complete lie?

George W. Bush and John Kerry both spent their mid twenties in uniform. The similarities end there.

This is a very interesting link...a timeline comparrison betweeen Kerry and Bush

This information is not a rumor. It's the truth Replay.

May 26, 1972:
Bush transfers to Alabama Guard unit so he can work on Senator William Blount's reelection campaign. According to his commanding officer, Bush never shows up for duty while in Alabama.

August 1972:
Bush is grounded for missing a mandatory physical.

November 1972:
Bush returns to Houston, but never reports for Guard duty.

October 1, 1973:
The Air National Guard relieves Bush from commitment eight months early, allowing him to attend Harvard Business School.

About Social Security.

Greenspan has advised a cut in social securtiy but this decision will not be implimented until after the election. According to Bush, people who are scheduled to qualify for social security in the near future will not be affected nor the people on social security now. Other younger recipients may be affected after the election. The Bush administration would like to eventually privatize social security.

Now, you will see, that there are no rumors or lies involved.

"Greenspan has advised a cut in social securtiy"

No, he advised that SS needs REFORM. Cutting benefits was never suggested.

I don't know the bill number, but it wasn't that long ago that Republicans tried to pass a law stating specifically that SS benefits COULD NOT ever be cut. The Democrats fought tooth & nail to defeat that bill, and they eventually did.

They were probably afraid they would lose their main source of "scare the old folks into voting Democrat" votes.

Bush AWOL: "This information is not a rumor. It's the truth"

As far as the AWOL thing goes, it's a done deal. The CO said he was mistaken, the pay records have been shown, and there is just NO WAY he could have been missing without some record of it. You think they don't "take attendance"? It's over, let it rest.

Both of these subjects are FABRICATIONS.

The left seems to think if they repeat the same falsehoods long enough that they wll suddenly become true.

Greenspan Urges Social Security Cuts

Search Google for Greenspan social security and you will find pages of articles on CUTS.

Whether you call it cuts or reductions it's all the same. Tax cuts to the wealthy and social security CUTS for those who need the money to survive.

Replaymedia

Both of these subjects are certainly not fabrications and if you think so, your head is deep into the sand.

Search for yourself, Replaymedia. Bush was a priviledged character in the National Reserve and enjoyed status that the normal reserve member did not. Some of the records were released but all were not. Why, do you think he missed his flight examination appointment whcich led to the loss of his flying priviledge? He was grounded.

Although his retirement records indicate that he attended drills at least five times in April and May of 1973, his annual review in May 1973 says he "has not been observed at this unit" for the past 12 months. Even if Bush were no longer flying and were performing "odds and ends" for different people, it's just not plausible that his direct superiors would be completely ignorant that he had returned to the base. But even after being asked again about Bush in June, his superiors apparently confirmed that he had not been seen.

Now his supporters are lying by ommition the same way he does.
Is anyone even hinting at reforming SS by INCREASING benefits.
There are two ways to go up or down.
To suggest even staying the same is what they mean is a joke. No more than that a knowingly contrived lie.
Do you think we are really that stupid you can mumble mouth substitute reform for cut and wave the problem away and we all breath a sigh of relief and dismiss our concerns?

I get the feeling from this thread that Bush supporters are reading the Star and other supermarket Rags and Kerry people actually read the newspapers-Since President Bush says that he doesn't read newspapers I guess I made my point about IQ's of the candidates-By not reading the papers he only gets the info fed to him by Carl Rowen and Dick Cheney That's not decision making thats just reciting someone elses agenda
