Presidential hopeful John Kerry is always talking about "American jobs overseas". Kerry said that he does not "like" American companies that lower cost by employing overseas." Oh REALLY? But let's look at WHO has been BENEFITTING by employing overseas? It is none other than the HEINZ Corporation, owned by Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz. Are they going to move some of their Heinz operations back to the good Ol' USA? OR are they going to STOP railing against BUSH about OTHER American companies with jobs OVERSEAS! ! !

102 of the 126 Corporate Sites are located in countries OUTSIDE of the U.S. ONLY 24 sites are inside the USA ( < 20% of the Corporate locations ).

How could this INFLUENCE a President who's wife has companies in ALL these countries? Think of the conflict of interest a President might have, if the nation has a conflict with any of the countries containing his wife's factories or business interests. How many potential U.S. jobs are lost to these locations?

It looks to me like Heinz is pretty diversified. Smart business sense for a big comany is what it looks like to me.

Kraft if you feel that way, I don't expect to see you complaining of the loss of American jobs to overseas workers.

But then aren't you in Canada, so why would it make any difference to you.

You really ought to think things through and do a bit of homework, instead of just forwarding any old anti-Kerry crap that splats into your inbox. You've provided a list of Heinz business that exist overseas. What you have not provided is any documentation for how many of those businesses moved overseas, and therefore, you haven't proven anything. There is no net loss of US jobs unless a company closed itself down here and moved. I suppose, by your logic, Ford is costing this country jobs because it makes Jaguars in England
Heinz opened it's first overseas business before the turn of the 19th century. Many, if not all of the businesses on your list were started during Heinz' boom years in the 40's and 50's, long before this was an issue. Check your ketchup, pickles, mayo and mustard bear, I betcha they weren't made overseas. I wonder how many Honda plants closed in Japan in order to open the ones in this country? Overseas expansion is not the same thing as moving manufacturing off-shore.

It DOES bother me, Bear. I try and watch Lou Dobbs when I can and his continued reports about companies leaving to go to overseas is sickening. What's to stop Canada from doing the same thing? It's scarey for everyone.

I'm not fussy about Kerry but his wife's holdings seems pretty sound. That was my only point.

Prof

Do you really think that Theresa & John don't benefit from the profit of the Heinz Corporations & she doesn't have a influence in the boards decisions?

To quote your own words: "mierda del toro"

The Heinz factories located around the world sell product in those countries for their consumption, they are not imported into the US.

As a shareholder I am sue that Mrs. Kerry benefits from the profits made by Heinz (I believe that is the American way or are you advocating some sort of socialism?).

Her official capicity is sitting on a board however and giving money to various worthy charities and organizations.

You'll have to come up with something else if you are attempting to discredit the Kerry's cause this ain't it.

Yes the point is Hienz SELLS in many countries. It doesn't just say make pickles in Romania and ship them to America to take advantage of foreign labor costs.
It's very similar to Coca-Cola. They have plants in almost any country you can name but in no way does that mean they have stripped the jobs out here and sent them overseas.

Sometimes all this complaining is just knee jerk envy of anyone having more money than the person complaining.

Exactly, in addition to really pushing the envelope looking for complaints about Kerry.

Don't have to look hard at all. All you have to do is read the crap Kerry spews everyday. Kerry's own mouth is his worst enemy, next to his voting record.

Seriously, Bear...It looks like you have nothing to report when you continuously drudge up such innocuous information...similar to Ebayauctionguy's thread about the ski slope. It's wonderful if that's all there is that you find objectionable.

Bear - do you really not get the difference between exporting US based jobs out of the country and maintaing offices in foreign countries in which you do business. Are all businesses that are formed in the US now forbidden to set up offices in pther countries where they have a sales base?

Is this basic premise of business honestly above you or do you simply chose to ignore it because it does not fit your purpose.

I notice that you give a laundry list of location but fail to note that most of those locations are distribution offices and offices/plants of affiliate brands that Heinz aquired.

I recently ate at Burger King in Mexico City. Another example of how jobs are being exported from this country, at least according to bear's logic.

Don't change the subject. You've yet to show us how the Heinz company is contributing to job loss in the US.
