My wife is about the most non-political person you could ever find. She has as much interest in politics as I have in football.
Tonight after the news and a few commercials she looked really angry and said -
What a bunch of hoey. Do they really think we are all idiots?

I would take that as an indication the management of the news and the political ads may be producing a back-lash they will regret.

She's right. Most of the stuff on tv is dedicated to nimrods. You have to give TV credit though for being the most popular form of mind-control. What a waste of time!

Solved the problem. I have a bunch of replayTVs. So I watch what I want, when I want, with no ads.

12 - I'm tired of your venom. You are one of these small minded people who think they look better if they tear down everyone around them. The sort that thinks civility is weakness.
I won't be back here so don't waste breath ranting on something I won't read. You are fortunate we don't share physical presence because if we did I would have maim you for that last spew and count the jail time worth it. Been there done that.

Gravid, Don't give him the satisfaction of believing that he was the cause of your exit. Your good posts are vital for the contiuation of this board so I hope that you will reconsider.

desquirrel, what is replayTV?

Is that like TIVO, or are you talking about videos or DVD's you've recorded?

I only watch HGTV lately

But when Mike is home, he switches it to either the Speed channel (car racing) or the Wings channel, usually the latter.....yawn

Replay is like Tivo...

Tivo is Sony's and Replay TV used to be independent but maybe associated with someone now

I think both charge a subscription fee now

ReplayTV is a PVR like Tivo. They started out at the same time but Tivo has the cutesy poo name.

Basically, it has a better picture, more elaborate features at lower cost (for comparable features). They are networkable, so you can control one unit from another, or watch each others programming, and they interface with pcs. So you can take programming, etc and burn to DVDs if you want. The 50XX series also skips commercials.

An analogy might be if you can't set the clock on your VCR, you probably have a Tivo. If you have cool electronics gear or are a tekkie, you have Replay.

Based on your continuous effort to insult *without provocation*, what other reason do you have? Most people do whatever they enjoy when given a choice.

What is your motive?

LOL!

We have not hooked up any of our VCR's just the DVD players

I got the 321 Studio for burning DVD's before the courts banned them, and I love it. and no I don't use it illegally!

Replay sounds interesting, will have to look into it

I think you'll like replay... I know several people who have it and like the freedom it gives in watching tv...

especially when you are watching tv and some unexpected guests arrive... just start recording and it takes up where you left off.

kraft ok, maybe this is not what you mean... but I've left here, not made any big announcement, like a 'manifesto' or anything, but come back, because the topic sometimes interests me, whatever...

I don't see why anyone should leave, people disagree. All the time, in RL too, of course, but they seem to more on the internet, I don't know.

Or there is people that take the 'written word' -posts, here the wrong way.

Like I think I upset someone on another thread.

I brought up an old thread to her, and I *think* she got upset, because I obviously took it the wrong way.... or rather read it the wrong way....

That happens a lot on bulletin, message, chat whatever boards.. typing out things, can be taken the wrong way, in relation to if I was to be talking to her in person....

IS THIS MAKING ANY SENSE? LOL!!!!!

(shhhhhhhh Helen.. I know, I know, taxing me leetle brain, I know )

ok outta here...... for the moment anyway

I probably would have taken what you said to her the "wrong" way, Nearthesea, but I ignore a lot of that stuff...especially from twelvepole.

Gravid usually has something interesting to say and he tells good stories, he always has.

As far as twelvepole goes, he's been trying to run everyone off this board with his juvenile comments ever since he came back and he's been unsuccessful. He doesn't have leadership qualities and his comments don't hold much merit.

edited because this is the wrong thread for that.
-----------

Gravid is an adult man who is quite capable of making decisions for himself. He may have meant he wasn't returning to that thread. But if he meant he wasn't returning to this forum, that's his choice.

Sometimes it's better to walk away for a while to cool down. Like many have done in the past.

I don't understand why anyone should need to walk away from twelvepole or take whatever he has to say so seriously. I could only be affected by those that I respect.

Coming from you kiara I take that a compliment... thank you...

Look for those nice threads that were started... where are they now?

People here don't want nice... they want confrontation... I give the people what they want honey...

Topics such as Politics and Religion are not topics for discussion... seems like people just don't learn that...

2 sides and both steadfast in their beliefs...

One person have I seen changed their mind and that was fenix about poligomy...

If she was even serious...

We have a mutual disrespect for each other kiara... I accept that... I still sleep at night... just fine...

I lost respect for Helen a long time ago... but that doesn't matter...

Whether gravid comes back or not... I don't care... neither makes me happy or sad... indifferent...

Look at krafts comments... as usual takes the low road... the only one I see is Linda... her statment is unemotional and straight forward

Of course I seen where kraft said her and kiara are blunt... yep.. so am I

As someone who has served their country during wartime

I find it quite offensive some the commnets that are continued to be expressed here... especially by those who have done nothing to better this country...

At least if some here even went out and protested something they say they believe in that would be a start...

But nope... lets come here and Bash the good Ol USof A and My President...

Look at Jewelery21's thread... immediately bashed the president but wanted your feelings... well I gave them.

Bear is from a war prior to mine but he understands...

Hell even Profe does something by teaching...

At least even kraft tried starting a nice thread... where is it now?

kiara you should stick to auctions, you suck at politics... Helen you just plain suck...

If people have left because of me... GOOD!

I am not sorry at all, means they didn't believe the crap they were spouting at all...

Man what a tough crowd.

Gravid's cool, but the "take my dollies and go home stuff is a bit much."

This is a g.d. chat board, not meetings with your priest.

Twelve, I re-read your post and wonder what YOU have done for your country? You make it sound like nobody on this board will ever measure up to your achievements and dedication, yet I haven't heard you mention any of your accomplishments. (??)
