Just to get away from politics from a minutes I have to share the adventures of my little commie bastard (He's a Russian Blue mix). This afternoon as I was working on the computer I started hearing this low rumble and could not for the life of me figure out what it was. Finally I realized it was my little grey fur ball growling at his pal who was apparently approaching too closely to his newest conquest, a midsized bird, locked firmly in his jaws. This is not his first conquest, in the past few weeks I have come home many a day to find that my home looks more like a voodoo ritual palace strewn with feathers from a couple sparrows and at least three pidgeons that he has caught and come trapsing in the window with. Knowing that once I saw it I was goinng to take his bird away he went bounding out the window only to be met by the family and friends of his nnewest prisoner chirping and swopping down towards him. Apparently they feel he has thinned their herd enough and he apparently was not in the mood to play so came back in, bird still in mouth.

I was finally able to pry it away from him after about five minues of of every trick I could think of, disposed of the body and went back about my work. About two hours ago he went nuts trying to get behind one of those plastic file crates I have shoved under shelving unit. I tiried to figure out what had him so fascinated and finally just figured it was the cable line that ran behind the crate and went back on about my business. I was wrong. About two minutes ago I hear scambling and bumping and sqeaks galore as my little hunter chasesd his prey back into the room and once again into the crate. He's located a mouse and as much as I want to just grab the thing and get it out of here I can't stop giggling at this little monster rollling around circling and pawing in to this crate trying to grab his prize.

I have no doubt that the little savage will ultimately prevail and in the meantime, I'm just glad that such a fun loving adventurous animal has found me worthy of being his owner. (The little monster actually comes when I call him when he is outside playing). I never thought I would call myself a cat person bu t between him and his older, much more sedate partner, I'm hooked.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
