With all the debate going on between Kerry's tour in Vietnam and Bush's tour in the National Guard, how important is it you for the President to have a military background?
After all the President is the Commander in Chief, what kind of example does it set if the Commander in Chief has never served in the military?
Does being in the National Guard count as much as being a front line soldier? Does being a cook or medic in one of the armed forces count as much as being a front line soldier?
Frankly, I think the President of the United States should have served in the military if he has the final say on issues dealing with war.
