I paid $1.88 for Mid-Grade today. That was in Junction City Kentucky. It cost me $8.15 to fill-up. I have a Ford Festiva, it gets 42 MPG.

Gas was $1.76 Tuesday morning and by Tuesday afternoon, it was $1.98. It was $1.89 at the station by me yesterday afternoon. It's Friday so there's no telling what it is today.
Anyone remember gasoline at $.35 per gallon? Anyone remember griping when it hit $.75 per gallon? Would anyone gripe about that now? Gosh, when it hit $1.00 that was a tragedy. This is a plane disaster!
Gasoline and heating fuel are rising faster than salaries and surely are out running job opportunities in this country. It will take us more than six months to pay off our heating fuel bill.

I can remember when it was 25 cents per gallon. Anyone else remember the Texaco commercial where the guy asks the service attendant (yeah--they had them back then!) for a gallon of gas, and then getsembarrassed cuz the guy is cleaning his windows, checking his oil & the air in his tires? He asks his girlfrind for a quarter sohe can buy another gallonof gas--and she says "if you hadn't spent the money toby that silly accelerator pedal (looks like a bare footprint), you could have afforded another gallon of gas."

Gas price in the Maryland, Va, D.C area is based on whatever the traffic will bear...from 1.75 up to over 2.00.
In an effort to justify high gas prices, some anti-Kerry idiot pointed out that Heinz ketsup is selling for $20.48 a gallon. I suppose his message is be thankful you aren't filling your tank with ketsup?

I remember when gas was 17 cents a gallon,during the gas wars,most of the time it was 23 cents. It was 50 cents a gallon in 1974 in Florida when they told us there was a shortage,Ha! Ha!

bunnicula, I can't remember the exact cost of a gal., but I had one of the little toyota POS's (for back then it was LOL) and scrounging in the bottom of a purse for any loose change to buy gas, yep! I remember that!
I remember my dad saying at one time years ago 'I tell you now, it won't be long before gas is $1. a gallon' we all gasped! and said No way, won't happen! And then it did....

$2.05 a gallon for regular in Santa Fe, NM yesterday and it was $1.97 a gallon when I filled up today in Espanola, NM. I was in Taos, NM today also and I noticed it was $2.05 gallon at most stations.
The Native American owned gas stations around NM allways sell gasoline for about 25 to 35 cents a gallon less but the lines to get in are usually about a 20 minute wait depending on the time of day or night.
Gosh, when it hit $1.00 that was a tragedy. This is a plane disaster!
