I didn't post anything that Monica wrote, if she could write

A very wise man once said;
There are risks and costs to a program of action. But they are far less than the long-range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.

These words ring true to me and I am thankful that we now have a President who is not just sitting on his butt or off cheating at playing golf when there is a tough job to do.

Go gettem Bush, don't let the basstards knock you down.

No, we have a president who distinguishes himself by lying and for sport, falling off his bicycle. When there is a tough job to do he bungles it with a show of miserable incompetence so thorough that it achieves world wide recognition of derision and disapproval.

No American should express solemn ratification of this president's lousy record with the word "Amen".

I can't recall if anyone has said it before in here or not so i'll say it now; Our soldiers are fighting a war against terrorism in Iraq, Afganistan and other places for you too. So therefore do try to show a little respect and gratitude, ok.

Yellowstone, as you know so very well, I do not support the war in Iraq which is not against terrorism. Surely I don't have to review that history for you. As you should know, Iraq had absolutely no responsibility for 9/11. I have support and respect for the troops but I have no respect for George Bush. If that bothers you, I suggest that you ignore my comments because I will not change my opinion or comments to suit your preference. Furthermore it's silly and presumptuous of you to make such a request.

Don't go and get testy now Helen
The point I was trying to make is that the war is being fought for you too wheather you like, dislike, agree, disagree or even fully understand the reasons for it.

You do not have to review that history for me because I know what you still beleive that the war in Iraq is being fought over, you just haven't mentioned it in awhile.

Iraq had absolutely no responsibility for 9/11.

Obviously many disagree with that....but let's just say they didn't. All on their own they still presented a threat to nations around them, ME peace and were more than willing to help fund terrorism - at least according to the past THREE administrations, other world leaders, the UN, etc. etc. etc.

But maybe you could name one or two world leaders who say saddam should have been allowed to remain in power.

I have support and respect for the troops ...if you don't believe in what they're fighting for [freedom for the Iraqi people] and dying for [to eliminate terrorism]...you don't support them. And most of them would tell you that themselves.

Re-elect President Bush!!

You seem very confused today, yellowstone. George Bush is neglecting terrorism in order to fight the war in Iraq. He is neglecting our civil defense against terrorism and making our counrty unsafe by inflaming the mideast which will lead to even more terrorism. For you to say that this war is being fought for me is absolutely ludicrous.

Do you really beleive that the fighting in Iraq is only against Iraqi Saddam loyalists. The car bombings that kill soldiers as well as Iraqi's, the roadside bombs, the hit and run tactics, the kidnappings, these are all tactics of terrorists. There are jihadist fighters from numerous countries commiting acts of terrorism in Iraq, not just Iraqi's.

Even Bush and Rumsfeld have publicly admitted that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

Some of the troops have admitted that the Iraqi war was wrong. They are doing a job that they signed up to do and putting their lives on the line. Of course everyone supports them and wants to see them get home safely. To say otherwise and to talk for all of them is pure BS, Linda.

Yellowstone, the terrorists were not in Iraq when Bush declared war.

There was no security provided so they came in for over a year now but Iraq wasn't responsible for that happening. So now the terrorists are in Afghanistan and Iraq and the problem is bigger than it ever was as they've been multiplying so quickly.

The terrorist cells are worldwide and have grown so much since the Iraqi war that we could very well be fighting them here in due time.

Obviously we can't turn back time but let's hope whoever is President in the near future takes the time to consult with others and learns more about the world before ever doing such rash things as was done this time.

If Bush is re-elected we can only hope that he becomes a wiser man and has learned from his mistakes before the world is put into even greater danger.

Osama Bin laden gave us a time for the war on terrorism to begin and Saddam Hussein gave us the place to fight it.

We have been pushed too far and by god it's about damn time we did something about it. I usually don't like to post links, I would rather just say what's on my mind but I feel that in this case this link spells out just how long and to what degree we have put up with terrorism throughout the past 4 decades. I think it's worth reading and afterwards then tell me that we did the wrong thing with the war in Iraq and on terrorism.

ugh...kiara...maybe you missed the word MOST in my post. I didn't speak for all....just the majority of them.
----------------------

Oh yes...let's put kerry in office...he's an Internationalist - it won't only be France we'll need to get permission, under a kerry administration from but from a united UN. He has said he won't sent our soldiers anywhere - [paraphrasing here] 'UNLESS the UN approves'. I don't think so. Our own government will decide when we move aggressively and when we don't - NOT the UN.

Since when were you chosen national spokesman for the troops, Linda? They have elected you to speak on their behalf?

Let us never forget

Let's never forget to think of other cultures and respect their beliefs whether we agree with them or not.

Let's never forget the mistakes that were made in this war whether it was the strategy or the abuse to the people and let's hope that things like this never happen again.

Like I said, we can't turn back time.
