If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Fenix, why didnt you mention its owned by the same people as FOX?
Is that a given to most?

I wonder how many NY'ers thought it true this am about Gephart? My observation is the post is read by alot of New Yorkers. Commuters probably more than the other papers, except maybe the daily news.
1. because its cheaper than WSJ or NYT
2. it holds up and folds up better on the trains & busses
3. has good celebrity entertainment snippets

Nero - cause I didn't know, actually nor do I care. I've never paid much attention to who owns what since if there is a topic I am interested in I usually try to find 3 or 4 articles on it and then work from the common ground info. Every writer has an agenda - it's simply human nature that whether they intend to or not, their writing will have the same leanings they do. To rely on a single source for your news is to choose to possibly remain ignorant of relevent facts.

Look at the story Bear posted about the Ca Legislature and the Viet Nam vet for example. Huge slant towards how this was so disrespectful of the democrats and yadda yadda yadda and barely a mention of the fact that the decision was made because this guy is working to eliminate one of the basic premises that our country was founded on and that the 4th of July represents.

Oh yaah - as to the size thing - in my teens, among other things, I was one of those annoying people that call to sell you a newspaper. Tablois stayle papers such as the post are infinitly more popular among commuters than the large fold out style. I don't really understand that since it is actually easier to handle sectioned papers than a single large paper but who knows. Of course, most people probably don't make a habit of reading the paper while they walk down the street which I do on a regular basis. I read the paper during my morning walk. Yeah - I know - I'm a freak.

lol fenix...I am doing the happy dance over here...ya mean I actually offered you something you didnt know?!! Whoo-hoo, it is most always the other way around here! you keep so on top of everything!! And I mean almost everything. (I'll have to thank my source for that tidbit...haha)

And yeah, I've long reconciled writers have their own built-in biases. When they most deny it - it really gets on my nerves. We all have our psychological makeup. The MOST they can do is TRY to be balanced, but that usually means seeking out opinions other than their own, or else doing a really factual boring piece. (I once wrote this guy and told him his writing was so boring it resembled a police report..lol. So ya cant really win!)

on the size: I've walked reading once or twice and I see people doing it! (My bad is stopping at a red light and glancing back over after go.) But see on those trains you ARE packed in there like sardines literally - so if you can get your self some breathing room stretching out your elbows with a post or a news...you're okay. (There's some unspoken law among the commuters about the amount of space with alotted...some of the foreigners dont get it, but thats another story...lol)
So if ya do wiggle around too much trying to fold up pages and continue on to A8 - well, all the fish packed right up in there to your face...get a bit ornry. You learn to get shoved pushed and bumped and totally ignore it!

You know, Fenix you probably are a freak, but youre terribly smart and have so many interests!! And not unkind most of the time! I'd take a freak, a geek, or a dog over somebody who is just unkind and thats all they want to perpetuate.

I didn't know that....but learning that Fox owns it does shed new light on a couple of comments I've read here.

----------

Well...Gephardt will now have a piece of memorabilia for what almost was.

I'm left wondering if the NY Post had set up printing for all three VP candidates....like kerry's campaign did with signs...and this wasn't an accident at all. [kerry/edwards - kerry/Gephardt - kerry/Vitxxx]

Reminds me of the picture I saw of Truman holding a newspaper that said Dewey had won the election.

Re-elect President Bush!!
