Wow Kerry is on a roll! Even I am impressed.

Citing some true knock em-down christian values. *where your treasure is, is where your heart is...* "words without deeds....

whshsh!

Now, if he would just allow a minute to "receive" from the crowd they might feel more interactive with the speech than being talked 'to'.

my thoughts so far!

I agree, neroter, that Kerry could be a little ...er...less...speech giving...is that a good way to phrase it?

But he does have 100% backing from the NAACP which says a lot.....Bush won't even go talk to them.....big mistake

yeah, crow, they all do that though. they dont wait to receive the input from the crowd! ??

Bush will have to find another way to get his message across to the black voters. It probably was a bad move to snub this organization, but I think he stood his ground on it and some will see that for what it is worth too.

I couldnt really ever warm up to Kerry.
This was an opening for me.

Yes, lots of people will see it's worth ...."standing your ground" can mean you're just plain stuck.

This is just why bush has to go....rather than try to open a dialog and show that he cares what they think he just shuts them off because some had the audacity to speak their minds.
But, Bush has already said that he doesn't care about people's opinion so what could anyone expect?
At least Kerry was welcome and spoke and people will see how much more THAT is worth.

"Lifelong NAACP member Rod Paige confronts the organization's leadership in a Wall Street Journal op-ed."

"Mr. Bond and Mr. Mfume have done a great disservice to our organization, and to the founders of the civil-rights movement, with their hateful and untruthful rhetoric...

How ironic that they would direct this vitriol at a president who has appointed more African Americans to high-profile posts, has committed more funds to fight AIDS in Africa, has championed minority homeownership, and has supported more trade and aid for African and Caribbean nations than any other administration."

The Washington Times reports Bush's expected attendance at the National Urban League conference in Detroit on July 23.

One thing about black folks as a group, if you dont speak honestly to them; they are not hearing it. okay, this is pure opinion, and probably sounds biased, but I think they are the least likely to get politically snowed by either of the candidates. It's been shown they typically vote democrat although I am sure some like Bush for the willingness to acknowledge a God, which many democrat candidates do not do too ofen. (Democrats assume all black people are liberal, but quite a few are not.)
