Hello All, I saw a very upbeat interview tonight. John Edwards and his wife were on the Larry King show. Mr and Mrs Edwards are very bright upbeat people. I found their interview enjoyable and uplifting. I believe John Edwards as V.P. will help make a much better America.

So bigpeepa what you are saying they finally have a bright upbeat VP candidate unlike the Pres candidate. Remember VP is only there to take the place of the President if he is unable to perform his duties. He also is the one who goes to the dignitary funerals. Presides over the senate and that is it. But then again if you think he is bright he just might over shine Kerry. Oh well we just have to wait and see.

Libra says,"So bigpeepa what you are saying they finally have a bright upbeat VP candidate unlike the Pres candidate. Remember VP is only there to take the place of the President if he is unable to perform his duties."

Libra, no, we have a bright upbeat VP candidate unlike the present VP.

And the VP is there ONLY to take the place of the president.....oh, is that all!

Oh, God, can you imagine a country with Cheney as president? That's a comforting thought - NOT. Edwards was a good choice and it makes for a good balance. He's more middle of the road than Kerry. And yes, from the looks of this administration, the president does take advice from his VP. Come on, Bush is certainly not bright enough to come up with some of this stuff all on his own. I can hardly wait for debate time when Bush isn't reading a script. It wasn't fair with Gore. To be totally honest, I didn't think Gore was all that bright either so the debates were rather a bore.

Twelvetoes, No two cameras were not needed during the interview. I am sure both John Edwards and John Kerry are very proud of their wives and families. Both Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Kerry are very smart upbeat people with something to say about a better America. Both women are free to talk about the issues in this country. I am sure both women will be front and center during this campaign.

I personally would like to see more of Mrs. Cheney and Mrs. Bush. Again both of these women are bright people. I would like to hear what they have to say about the issues.

Libera63, This is what I said, "I believe John Edwards as V.P. will help make a much better America." Like it or not you are going to see John Edwards as VP for years to come.
I am wondering who would step in as Pres if Cheney died.

peepa, I perfer the President's wife out front leading his social issues also, I think once he is reelected in Nov. we will see more of Mrs. Bush

I think that VP Cheney will retire shortly after the election and President Bush will offer the VP to Colin Powell.

Now we know twelve has a dislike for overweight people.

Come on Crow, you should know by now that twelve only likes white military men. He has already proved his dislike towards women, the disabled, gays, priests, and all the deviant politicians in Washington.

What relevent point are you trying to make peepa?

Mrs Edwards is fat, she has been on tv laughing about it... she knows this is going to be the behind the scenes jokes... she also knows that cartoonists will not leave her alone if the country makes a mistake and votes them into office...

Just thought I'd post Elizabeth Edwards bio again. Now, the urbane, intelligent, sophisticated Republicans will have a field day deriding her for her great crime of being overweight (which none of them are) but thinking people will look at the person she is, not judge her by her weight.
I apologize to linda in advance if this is yet another woman who makes her "gag".

Elizabeth Anania Edwards shares her husband's deep commitment to improving America's future. A passionate advocate for children and an accomplished attorney, she has been a tireless worker on behalf of important social causes.

The daughter of a decorated Navy pilot, Mary Elizabeth Anania was born on July 3, 1949. In her early years, she attended school in Japan, where her father was stationed with a reconnaissance squadron, flying missions over China and North Korea.

As an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Mrs. Edwards majored in English. She went on to study American literature but then switched to law, graduating from UNC Law School in May 1977. She married John Edwards on July 30th, the Saturday after taking the bar exam.

Like her husband, Mrs. Edwards possesses an accomplished legal background. Following law school, she clerked with U.S. District Court Judge Calvitt Clarke, Jr. in Norfolk, Virginia. She worked for the North Carolina Attorney General's office in the early 1980s, where she did work for the Department of Natural Resources and Community Development and the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act.

From 1984 to 1996, Mrs. Edwards worked at the Raleigh law firm Merriman, Nicholls, and Crampton. In the early 1990s, Mrs. Edwards taught legal writing as an adjunct instructor at UNC Law School for two years, and in 1996-97, she was a member of the first group of Public Fellows at the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC.

Mrs. Edwards shares her husband's commitment to serving the community and expanding educational opportunities for all children. She volunteered with the Parent Teacher Associations at her children's schools, and has been active in their youth soccer leagues in several roles. Additionally, she volunteered at Goodwill Industries, working in the book room of their thrift store.

In 1992, John and Elizabeth Edwards established the Vincent J. Anania Lacrosse Scholarship in honor of Elizabeth's father, a former lacrosse player and Assistant Coach at UNC-Chapel Hill. In 1996, they helped establish the Wade Edwards Foundation, and helped build a computer learning center - the Wade Edwards Learning Lab - for youngsters in Raleigh. Recently, the foundation opened a similar computer lab in Goldsboro. The Wade Edwards Foundation also runs a statewide short fiction contest for North Carolina's high school juniors, awarding $10,000 a year in scholarships and grants to high school English programs. Mrs. Edwards volunteered at the lab nearly every day, until the family came to Washington following John Edwards' 1998 election to the U.S. Senate.

Mrs. Edwards is the proud mother of four children: Catharine, a senior at Princeton University, a 5-year-old daughter, Emma Claire, and a 3-year-old son, Jack. Her first child, Wade, died in 1996. Despite the demands of raising two young children, Mrs. Edwards still finds time to participate in community service. She remains active in the Wade Edwards Foundation, and is involved in a variety of charitable efforts, including fundraising for the March of Dimes benefit. She also serves on several boards, including the UNC Board of Visitors and Books for Kids.

twelve, she did have those kids when she was 48. I bet she had to take hormones for that and they do make you fat. But shes not that fat, like grotesquely obese or anything.

Besides when they get in office she can do a national thing-a-jig on healthy eating, lose weight and show us all how its done

Twelve,

Maybe your right. Cheney might retire after this election with his history of having a heart problems. However, he might have "the big one" before the election. You know, with the Bush girls on the campaign trail nowadays. He might get too excited with them around.

True Americans do not exclude anybody. They recognize that everyone should have the same rights. Bigotry, intolerance and hatred are cancers of the mind.

Crow, what? She is overweight. You want us to deny that?

i think tweleve brought it up for his own reasons but I also think we have certain expectations of our presidents and their wives. Times have changed I admit that, but I think as many people liked Hillary, just as many did not because she wasnt very graceful or something. MO

If some people don't like someone because they're "not graceful or something" then they are stupid.

I'm sure the many many people who have met and been helped by Ms. Edwards don't give a damn about her weight and it doesn't seem MR. Edwards cares either.

Jackie O. had it ALL.....Nancy Reagan was skinny.
