Celebrities might not realize that they *may* be doing themselves a great disservice by speaking out on their political views publically. They might just be hurting their movie/DVD/record/etc sales because their previous fans see them in a different light and it may not be a positive one.
I know for me there have been many 'stars' whose movies I have enjoyed over the years....but since hearing/reading about their political positions, I've decided to boycott any further movies [etc] they're in...as my small way of protesting.

I agree with Linda. It's my money to spend or not to spend. If I choose not to spend it seeing a movie or whatever with a celeb I don't agree with their political views its my choice, no one elses.

I wonder if you feel the same about reading books or newspapers. Do you need to know the political position of an author before you read a novel, for example. Would you read a book written by a socialist or a communist?
It seems to me that someone who was so exclusive in their reading habits would miss a lot of good literature.

I too, would not exclude actors or entertainers work because of their personal political views. Now, if they only chose PC projects, I probably would by virtue of just losing interest and thinking that gets real boring for someone who is supposedly performing an art form.
