I was thinking the other day of my accomplishments and the events that directly affected me during the Clinton Administration and came up with a short list of those things I remember.

1) I graduated with two Bachelors Degrees.

2) I started two businesses.

3) I paid less than $100 a month for auto insurance.

4) I paid less than $1.00 a gallon for gas.

5) I made more money then than what I do now.

6) I had health insurance.

7) I bought a brand new car.

8) I never lost a job.

9) I saved enough money to move across the country from Florida to Oregon.

10) I was proud to be an American.

Now, looking back to those times, I can see why Bill Clinton was so evil. He provided the greatest economic growth for America, and I benefited from it. Shame on him and shame on me.

Or could it be you were living at home with mommy & daddy & they were paying the bills for the roof over your head, the electricity you used and grocerys you ate, your tuition & books and had you on their auto policy?

Lets see while Clinton was President...
1. I lost money in my business.
2. Had no health insurance.
3. Couldn't keep a extra job,didn't pay nothing.
4. Had to file Bankruptcy.
5. Couldn't afford to by a car.
6. Had to go live with another relative couldn't afford rent.
Under Bush things seem better.
1. Was able to buy two more vehicles.
2. Had excellent job, payed very good, but I quit due to back problems.
3. Can afford health insurance.
4. Business is growing better than ever on E-Bay. Flea Market has been good but slow at the moment.Don't need to go get a job at least.
5. Can afford rent and all the bills stay payed.
6. Don't have to worry if this country is attacked again that we don't have enough Military to defend ourselves unless Kerry gets in that is.

Luckily, My children graduated from school before the Bush administration caused the outrageous increase in college tuition. We were able to operate a business and keep several employees employed during the Clinton administration and they were well paid with health insurance. As rusty indicated gas was less than a dollar a gallon so we were even able to enjoy our boat.

Clinton was an outstanding president! During his administration, America was strong and respected throughout the world. It will be a tough job to clean up the colossal mess left by the Bush administration but I am sure that Kerry will be able to handle it.

Helen,

I will be voting Democratic for the FIRST time in my life. The reason is George W. Bush.

I agree Helen,

To quote Chevy Chase, "George Bush scares me".

For me it will always be Jennifer Granholm (D), current governor of Michigan, and Debbie Stabenow (D), US Senator from Michigan. I always like trying to give women a chance. I always use female attorneys when possible.

A funny story about Debbie Stabenow. In her first run for the Senate, she ran against Spencer Abraham (R). He campaigned against her creating a image of liberalism. He used the trademark logo from the Little Debbie snack cake company calling her Liberal Debbie. The folks at Little Debbie didn't like their trade style used and forced him to stop.

Worth noting is that the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities -- a liberal group often at odds with Bush's policies -- issued a report April 12 saying that the federal tax burden on the typical middle-income family of four was at its lowest level in decades. The Kerry index reflects none of the benefit of the Bush tax cuts. After-tax income has fallen, but not by as much as income before taxes.

Contributing the most to the gloomy picture presented by Kerry's index is college tuition. Kerry aides used only the figure for four-year public colleges and universities, which has shot up 13% under Bush, even after adjusting for inflation. But they excluded tuition for private colleges and universities, which went up only 5%. (Both figures are from the College Board's annual survey of college costs.)
---------

And this President has made it easier for those who choose to attend four-year public colleges.
---------

gasoline costs? Go check out how kerry thought we should handle it before. Raise the gasoline tax by $.50 a gallon. You'll be paying more than you already are under a kerry administration.

MAH645 - No matter which administration this happened under....I'm glad to hear things have turned around for you. Sounds like you survived some pretty difficult times.

The Kerry index falls also falls short when its own indicators are deconstructed. The Kerry index's median family income indicator fails to accurately judge the financial situation of families. As seen in the chart below, Kerry's median family income indicator does not include the fact that the income tax burden for the median income family of four is the lowest on record.

Lower and middle class Americans are facing a lower tax burden now than they were in 1979 during the Kerry-praised Carter administration.

Other indicators in the Kerry index fail as well.

The Kerry index claims that gasoline prices are near record highs when data shows that gasoline prices are moderate when adjusted for inflation.

The Kerry index's college tuition indicator is sorely lacking as it only includes four-year public university costs and fails to include financial aid. Despite rising college costs, recent statistics show there is more financial aid available now than any time in history.

Kerry's homeownership indicator omits the fact that the current home ownership rate is higher than any time during the previous three administrations.

The Kerry index doesn't even include employment numbers. The current unemployment rate of 5.7 percent is below the average unemployment rate of the 1970s, 1980s, and the 1990s. Under President Bush, total employment has increased by 600,000 people and totals 138 million workers.

Clinton's administration is turning out to be smoke ans mirrors, wages were artificially inflated, books were cooked to make corps look better than they were.

Clinton signed NAFTA, Clinton avioded the vietnam draft, clinton made kennedy look like a chior boy... but got caught and then tried to lie about it... had no control over his wife... notice how they had to move to New York, because she knew she would of never been elected from Arkansas

All of clinton's "prosperity" was false...as indicators point out, it was sliding downhill when he left office, also President Bush is straightening out his mess and is doing a great job at it... 4 more years!

Did the Bush tax cuts make up for income lost to the recession? No - but watch out for Republicans who claim it did

There was little comfort for Republican political hopes in the income and poverty figures released by the Census Bureau on September 26. They showed that 1.7 million more Americans fell into poverty in 2002, while income of the typical household declined by $500. And while tax cuts had clearly eased the pain some, for the typical household it was not enough -- even after-tax income declined by $310.

But that did not stop House Republicans on the Joint Economic Committee from putting out a news release claiming Census figures showed tax cuts had produced an after-tax income gain of $249. "This is the first increase in after-tax median income since 1999," said the committee's vice chairman, Republican Rep. Jim Saxton of New Jersey. Without the Bush tax cuts, Saxton said, "there is no doubt that middle income households would have suffered reductions in take-home pay in 2002."

Actually, middle income households did suffer reductions in take-home pay by every measure that the Census bureau published. It publishes 16 different measures of before- and after-tax income, some of which attempt to count such things as the value of Medicare or the paper profit from rising home values. All 16 went down in 2002, including definition 1b, the bureau's official measure of money income minus federal, state and local income taxes.

Yep Bear, that was all true, for perhaps you. I had my own car insurance, I paid my own way through school, even though my father was court ordered to do so as part of the divorce, he never paid a dime. Funny, he's a Republican Neo-Con just like you.

My mother couldn't afford to send me money, and she occassionally bought some groceries every few months I was able to make my way home. I paid for my own car payment through working 25 hours a week, while being 3 credits over full-time each term, serving 12 hours a week during my last two years for my internships, being a Student Senator and running my own business.

I would recommend next time you want to judge someone, you get your facts straight. I unlike most rich kids busted my a$# in college. I didn't take things for granted as most of you neo-cons do.

I love when people point to George Bush as some great economic success. He has to create one net job, in fact, last I checked he had quite a few jobs to create before he could break even.

I personally made less money under Clinton selling on Ebay, but I would say that several factors would explain why. First, I sold for the last two years of Clinton. I mostly reinvested my income to build up to what I have now. I used to list 10-20 auctions a week, now I list 120-160 a week. Most of the items I sell now, sell for much less than what they did during Clinton, even though these items are more popular than ever. Most people buying from me on ebay are looking to save $$ from the mall prices.

twelvesie says,
" had no control over his wife.."

This has got to be the most backward statement since someone said that women who wear pantsuits are gay!

Twelvesie, you should marry neroter and take a trip back in time a century or 3 !!

No wonder you're not able to marry...not too many women are that stupid as to allow a man to control them.....try hookers, they(and a few other women) like to be controlled.
