Parklane, the stories they've done on the people who survived that disaster is gut-wrenching to watch. I cant even watch them when they show the deformed children.

It reminds me of the people of Nevada and surrounding areas, as well as the military personnel, after the atmospheric nuclear test in the 1960s 1960s.
Has anyone else seen the documentary Atomic Veterans ? The "surprise" ending was pretty bad.

Reamond, finally found a little info on the documentary. Sounds grim with scenarios that will probably be repeated 10 times over in Belarus. And the Soviets allegedly inflicted the Belarussians even more, so as to protect their larger population centers. Let's not go into the 40 to 200 spent nuclear reactors, and other radioactive trash, just dumped by the Russians into the Arctic ocean. The U.S. isn't innocent, just more circumspect.

Don't think for a minute that the US government wouldn't seed clouds to protect NYC from a nuclear disaster over a less populated or less politically powerful area.
That's why we detonate nukes in Nevada or some Pacific Atoll instead of upstate New York or Texas.
The US government out right lied to the civilians in Nevada about the danger they were in.
But I wonder if you had cancer from either of these events if it would make any difference to you which government did it to you ?

reamond, I don't think they knew that much about what what nuclear blasts would do in the 50's, as they do know today
We still believe my mother died of luekemia in 77 from spending a lot of time in Nevada in the 50's.
