"We're a nation in danger," Bush said in a White House Rose Garden appearance where he announced his support for a national intelligence chief and the establishment of a national center to plan counterterrorism operations in the United States and abroad. "We're doing everything we can in our power to confront the danger."
Wasn't just last week Bush told the nation we are safe. I guess Bush doesn't know the difference between being safe and being in danger when you have a military bunker to hide in.

YUP, Poor bush he has to say he made the nation safer and at the same time keep the country shivering in their boots so they vote for him.
Quite a balancing act for someone who's not too quick on his feet mentally !

Well safer than WHAT! Safer than Iraq?
Safer than we were 5 years ago?
Safer than Switzerland?
Safer than jumping in to an erupting volcano?
And if Bush would call a special session of congress and pass some of the recommendations by the 9/11 commission maybe we would be safer then but he WON'T.
BY the way FIRST Georgie didn't want the 9/11 commission
then he said he DID (when he saw it was going to happen anyway)

Bush's exact words were "We are safe but we can be safer."
Crow, let's not forget how Bush didn't want Rice to testify before the 9/11 commission and then he did. He also didn't want them to have an extension and then he did.
Bush sounds like Chicken Little now. I am expecting him to issue a statement saying we can protect ourselves with duct tape and plastic sheets.
