Interesting. A senior official involved in the hunt for Bin Laden feels that Al Qaeda wants the current administration to win the election. For that reason, they'll mount an attack at election time to rally the country around the President...
Bin Laden wants an opponent easily manipulated who retaliates without strategy and at the same time alienates the United States from other world leaders. That opponent, made to order for Bin Laden is George Bush. It's frightening that Bin Laden has apparently concluded that an attack before the election will garner the same support that Bush received after 9/11 and this support will lead to his reelection.

Wise point Helen. I am sure Bush and his Admin are planning to fall for it as well. They do jack sh*t for 3 years regarding Homeland Security, and then they'll want to take credit when it happens. Bush could care less about the American people. To him, collateral damage is nothing as long as his buddies can make more money on it. Bush hopes for a terrorist attack so that he can get more funding to fight terror. Ironically, he has received plenty of funding and has chosen to waste it in Iraq, and not protect us Americans. This is pretty obvious by the fat contracts his buddies get, while our troops go without the necessary equipment and protection. Bush cares less about the troops, so why should he care about American citizens?

Let's see, Clinton bombs OBL's empty terrorist camp while Bush takes his whole damn country. I think we all know that OBL (like democrats) prefers anyone but Bush.

And Kerry's plans to change the War on Terror into a law enforcement matter must have OBL quaking in his boots.

Sound familiar?......
At home, the candidate would leave the nation vulnerable, doing almost nothing to secure ports, chemical plants and other potential targets. He would stonewall investigations into why the initial terrorist attack succeeded. And by repeatedly issuing vague terror warnings obviously timed to drown out unfavorable political news, his officials would ensure public indifference if and when a real threat is announced.
Last but not least, by blatantly exploiting the terrorist threat for personal political gain, he would undermine the nation's unity in the face of its enemies, sowing suspicion about the government's motives.
O.K., perhaps... President Bush isn't actually an Al Qaeda mole, with Dick Cheney his controller. Mr. Bush's "war on terror" has, however, played with eerie perfection into Osama bin Laden's hands - while Mr. Bush's supporters, impressed by his tough talk, see him as America's champion against the evildoers.
Last week, Republican officials in Kentucky applauded bumper stickers distributed at G.O.P. offices that read, "Kerry is bin Laden's man/Bush is mine." Administration officials haven't gone that far, but when Tom Ridge offered a specifics-free warning about a terrorist attack timed to "disrupt our democratic process," many people thought he was implying that Al Qaeda wants George Bush to lose. In reality, all infidels probably look alike to the terrorists, but if they do have a preference, nothing in Mr. Bush's record would make them unhappy at the prospect of four more years.

Osama wanted Iraq attacked and Bush abandoned Afghanistan to do so.
Now there is a movement of Al Qaida into Saudi Arabia.
Osama needed recruits for his army and by attacking Iraq, Bush provided them.
Now, the United States is in extreme danger...and Osama is pleased.
If Bush is reelected, there will be another world war in the Middle East.
The occupation of Iraq will spread to Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Even Cuba has been mentioned along with Venezuela and North Korea
So it's wrong, EAG, to suppose that Osama bin Laden wants another oppponent. He's doing so very well with George.

On one hand, I'd like to think that all us infidels really do look alike to AQ. But given the successes they've had since 9/11, I have to wonder if they wouldn't be real happy to have GWB for another four years. Maybe they're way more cunning and savvy than we like to give them credit for.... Maybe they feel threatened by Kerry's talk about getting this country's traditional allies back into the fold.
