Interesting connection, assumption and assertion there. Of course you are aware that steroids, even designer steroids, cannot cause one to foul on a long jump or to botch a hand off. Additionally - NO athlete is still taking performance enhancing drugs during competition. Those that are busted were taking them in training and missed the math on when to stop taking them in order to have them out of their system in time for competition. Remember - a win means automatic testing.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

They take all three medal winners AND the fourth place person for testing during this Olympics--or at least that is what one of the commentators said last week. It was also stated that with today's testing techniques steroids taken as much as 10 months before can be detected.
