Who here was posting before the RT and remembers how EO was?

It was a mess... RT made a place for non-eo subjects to be posted... a few posters pushed to have this forum made... it was different back then... fighting, but not bitterness...and someone would always make me laugh no matter how bad it got in here...

I think that is what I miss the most... being able to fight and laugh... but hell it is nice to think back from time to time...

I was here before the RT was established. Remember when we were working to agree on it's name. Some thought it should be the 'Back Forty'. Maui road down the 'halls' on her hog...presented us with many 'ponderments' to think about.

But there's a reason, twelve, that they say friends should try and stay away from discussing religion and politics....and we see the proof right here.

Linda, when I happened on that inkfrog thread a couple of days ago, I was astonished to see alot of the same posters name that post here. Alot of the threads were talking about the threads over here at AW!! lol

I didnt know whether to be impressed or scared!

neroter - Be afraid, be very afraid. [just kidding]

Yes, they used to be referred to as 'board junkies'...many traveled from chat site to chat site...some posting on serveral different sites all the time. And if anything they thought was of interest going on one board...they'd discuss it on others.

When the credit card requirement because an issue...many who posted here for years left and formed their own chat sites on ez-boards.

Inkfrog was where some of the crowd went for their image hosting when AW started to charge fees........ I think it was called something else before Inkfrog.

A few of them were bashing AW and trolling the boards on the EO for awhile to show that they were upset. It was a very tame 'fluff board' and I hadn't checked it in years but now I see it's pretty well almost dead..... all topics on The Hoppin Place from March until now are still on the first page.

Yes, I was here "way back when." And the arguments were just as bad or worse in the good old days. People were being suspended right and left back then, as I recall. Of course, the RT was monitored back then, too.

But the moderators would give you a warning

"Address the post, not the poster"

I think thats how it went

And then there was the Moderators Corner

I've been here since 1999. I remember the fights! They would go on all day and all night.Days and days on end..everyone involved trying to avoid moderation. But when there was moderation then the Moderators corner would be busy!Oh yes, those were the glory days of AW /Vendio.

It was interesting then because there were so many diverse opinions about everything..now it seems that people are on one side or the other...not much in between.Way too polarized..but it is a sign of the times ~ especialy in an election year.

Twelve, I agree about missing the laughter that went along with the fights. We somehow didn't used to be so serious about everything.

Hey Rawbunzel! How do you like this weather. It sure seems like fall! That sure came quick, after the really warm (hot) summer! We actually turned the heat on! (I'm a wuss )

Ha! You are a wuss Nearthesea! It is lovely isn't it?I love fall weather best of all. I am hoping not to turn my heat on till next month or later. I layer as long as I can stand it.

My dog likes it much better for his daily walk too, not so hot. He is a wuss too but the other way..just like me!

edited because fall has two "l"s. I didn't want to get hollered at.

LOL! Well, I admit to being a wuss in the 90 degree heat, and the cold too.

I love fall too! Looks like an early winter, so the farmers in E. WA say, we were just over in Lake Chelan for 3 days. Don't know, but it would be nice to see some snow
(I know! commuters HATE me for saying that! LOL)

Since I got my little RAV4 with awd I have no problems in the snow at all so I no longer care if it snows.[so,I won't hate you for saying it] I used to hate it...sliding around on the hills and getting stuck all the time. Snow driving is a breeze now. Ice still sucks but snow..I love it!

I so prefer the colder weather, I can add clothes all day long but you can only strip down so far! LOL

Hasn't it been pretty hot still in E.Wa? I have not been to that side of the mountains in years.

Oh I've seen those Rav's, those are cool! We are thinking of getting another Jeep Cherokee.

Yeah it was warm when we went, it was in the 80's not as hot as it usually is.

We fell in love with Chelan, I normally wouldn't think I would like the 'high desert' but waking up every morning to all those brown desert hills, I liked it. We liked it so much, Mike applied for a JOB in Wenatchee! LOL! We talked to the locals, and in Chelan, they groom the hills in winter and have snowmobile 'drag races' !

I hadn't been over there either in years, and it was a nice change. Wenatachee and Chelan are neat. Not sure about Yakima and those places, haven't been to those in years and years.

Its just getting SO crowded and so much traffic here, wherever you live in the Puget Sound area, we are seriously thinking of it. Cost of living is much lower back there too. Dunno, might happen, but I'm not packing yet

I've been in Chelan in the summer when it was 113degrees. HOTTER THAN HADES!!!But still ... a dry heat You might like it there really well. Who knows? Cheaper is good too, isn't it expensive here now?

We've been thinking of moving out of the city too..been thinking about if for a few years..I really only stay in the city because of my mother..she needs me to do errands for her and such now that she is 87.When she is gone I am sure we will move out to the country..maybe up north .I might even go south but I like it better north.
I am tired of living so close to my neighbors. I also want some chickens!!!
