OhMsLucy, I hope she is OK as well. It's such a horrible situation for those in Florida. I hope Stusi and his family are OK too.

Hi Kraft,
Thanks for the welcome!
My three grandchildren are presently evacuated from Pensacola. My son (he lives here in California) hasn't heard from his ex but she said they were going to Texas. Sure wish she would call... Oh well, maybe she's just not in cell phone range.
There are a lot more Vendio people in Florida and surrounding areas - Niel35, Glassgrl, Dacreson, DrDolittle, Bizzycrocheting, Lattefor2, Cheryl's Dad, Lovetosell, Tomwiii and Gtootie is nearby in Louisiana. And, of course, the EO Mascot - Ralphie! I hope all are safe and well...

Hi Lucy. I havent seen her post in a few days. Maybe she hightailed it out of there?
Would hope so anyway!
But I'm sure she will be just tickeled when she comes back to see you have asked for her and started her her very own thread!

That's right OMLucy! Cheryl's dad is there too. (I hope he's OK Cheryl.) It must be a scarey thing to go through - 3 times in season and maybe 4.
My fingers are crossed for the EO people & their families as well.

Hi Neroter,
I remember her posting about how she was headin' outta Dodge with her pets and wasn't sure where she could find a place that would take them. Seems like Gtootie steered her up into Mississippi?
Duhhh.... can't remember which thread it was.
I just hope she's okay. I know you guys are her friends, just thought one of you might have heard from her.
If I had to evacuate it would only involve one fairly small parrot. Small bird - long tail. OTOH, if my Mom had to accompany me, that would mean FOUR MORE! Parrots, that is...

Lucy, well.. I wouldnt consider us friends exactly. We had some fun banter back n forth...and even a few 'deep thoughts threads' - but I think if anything, or anybody, crowfarm stays in touch with her?
Last year we got hit with Isabel. It is a very scary thing. Oddly enough though, it didnt hit my area real bad. But people right around us here lost their homes and everything! - it was a real mess for months getting back to normal. Some still havent recovered what 1/2 of what they had.
I just hope people have the strength they need to deal with that type of devastation and upheaveal! It must be a very wild trip!
Just so much loss, ya know?

Well, where's Crowfarm when we need her?
My one experience with Jackson...
A long, long ill-fated plane flight a few years ago. Started out in San Luis Obispo, went to LA, took the red-eye to Dallas. Got hung up in Dallas 'cuz their 'puters were down the night before. People sleeping on the floor, etc.
Finally got on the plane to Pensacola. Touched down in Jackson. Not much there but they did have bags of chips in the vending machines...

Hi Everyone!
Just a note to say .."I'm Back"..
Everything is fine here, thank God. Just a couple of acres of yard work to do, pine needles, cones, and small limbs and branches to clean up... nothing to complain about.
The 8 hours drive with the three dogs was something else, bumper to bumper going 3 miles in 35 minutes near Jackson.. that was a nightmare..
We were very lucky in this area, for a while there, it looked like Ivan was heading straight for us.
I hope that everyone else stayed safe. Lucy any news about your grand children yet? Praying they are all okay.
Well, it's off to bed, for the rest of the week.. LOL.. don't seem to handle stress as well as I used to.. Thanks again to all for your digit crossings and best wishes..

My dad's okay. He has a few more grey hairs, but he's fine. While he was up here, it was 75 and sunny one of the days. Perfect weather, IMO. He had on layers! Said it's too cold. The day I made a crack at him about not having hurricanes up here, Frances roared into town and flooded our basement! I think he got the last laugh on that one.

Yes Twelve, the dogs are just fine..LOL
Home has never looked so good! The dogs were so good, but it was crowded in the pick-up.. and I never realized how bad their breath was! With all three breathing down my neck.. I had to open the back window and run the air.. LOL..
Lucy, I hope your grand children are safe and their home wasn't damaged?
And Cheryl, thank god your daddy wasn't in danger.. I understand about him feeling the chill at 75 degrees.. I went up to Toronto Ontario Canada two years ago in July and had to wear a sweat shirt.. but when you are used to 90's and high humidity... what can I say.. LOL
Japerton... my one and only drug of choice is Tylenol PM.. LOL.. and that knocks me out!
Thank you Etex.. I couldn't find a room so turned around and drove back home.. after hearing the news that New Orleans wasn't going to take the hit and being that I am up from New Orleans.. I took my chances, rather than spend the night in my pick-up.. Boy did I feel like a white raisin on my way back home... bumper to bumper traffic on the other side and me by myself going the opposite way back towards the storm.. I could almost feel the looks and hear them calling me a nut case.. whoo! Whoo! That's me always doing things my way.. Hee Hee..
But the house did some shaking and I didn't get much sleep last night...
I'll book a room in all directions way in advance next time..
Classic.. yes I'm a redhead..with green eyes like you Paws... sorry to say I have always had the temper that goes with it..LOL
I have a theory about that.. it's because of all the persecution we suffered throughout history .. LOL
Redheads represent only two percent of the world's population, and -- believe it or not -- we have been the objects of quiet persecution throughout history.
In ancient Egypt, the color red was superstitiously regarded as so unlucky that ceremonies were held to burn redheaded maidens alive to preserve the well-being of the Egyptian community.
During the witch-hunting era of the 1600s, women with red hair were suspected of witchcraft and either burned at the stake or drowned. In Corsica, redheads were spit at on the street. Now tell me ... wouldn't you get a little testy if you had to put up with all that crap.. LOL
But I digress... the subject was Fluffy and if she is back ... she was crusty and irritable.. who knows .. it could have been just constipation.. but she was well informed and I did learn a thing or two from her posts.
Going to take my drug of choice (Tylenol PM) and get some sleep.. Glad to be home.. Maggie

Hi Maggie, glad you're safe and the house is still standing!
I have a friend headed for New Orleans on Monday....what will she find? She's a red head, too, and a blonde and a strawberry blonde and a brunette...........
I heard the hurricanes were caused by a coven of red heads...is that true??????????

My particular coven worked overtime to move the thing east of us here...the good news..we succeeded in shifting it... the bad news.. we won't get our overtime pay thanks to Bush!!
Your friend shouldn't have any problems in New Orleans, Crow. But if she does, give her my address and tell her to come and stay with me! You have my address. Maggie
