Linda, you may be particularly interested in the following 'flash' movie.
I believe you once said that one of your children has a Japanese spouse. If they hail from Nagosaki or Hiroshima, you may wish to advice them not to bring forth any grandchildren for you.
This may be a hurtful point, but the seeds have been sewn and I for one would never have supported it, unlike you and your neocon prowar type.

You may wish to pull your head out of the sand on this issue at least.

If you're not worried about the Arabs, it's in your back yard too.
On a bright note, I'm sure it creates employment for many.

In Jefferson County, Indiana, the Pentagon has closed the 200-acre (80-hectare) proving ground where it used to test-fire DU rounds. The lowest estimate for cleaning up the site comes to $7.8bn, not including permanent storage of the earth to a depth of six metres and of all the vegetation. Considering the cost too high, the military finally decided to give the tract to the National Park Service for a nature preserve - an offer that was promptly refused. Now there is talk of turning it into a National Sacrifice Zone and closing it forever. This gives an idea of the fate awaiting those regions of the planet where the US has used and will use depleted uranium.

What say you bear and 12 and other Christian White folk??
Do you support the use of WOMD by your Christian Nation.

It is outrageous to poison our environment! I vote for using the neutron bomb.

Maybe they should take a hint and not #*!@ with the U.S., This goes way beyond what Rome did to Carthage.

austbounty, I love my country, but I fear my government. To me, austbounty, your motivation is suspect, if you indeed reside in another country. Thanks for the post, the truth and fact is always welcome, even if it is ugly.

If you recall, the "truth" was debunked in the big depleted uranium weapons thread a year ago. For every wacky "causes nosebleeds 2 continents over" cut and paste there were British, American, Swiss, etc SCIENTIFIC studies that studied ingestions of the stuff to find harmful thresholds.

After they "decontaminate" the testing areas they'll probably have to move a few mountain ranges that have the same level of radioactivity.

And if Ausbounty thinks, even today, Americans would even think twice about 1+ million casualties invading Japan than dropping the A bomb, he's more stupid than I previously imagined.
